Werdsmith: Writing App

This app was the first to get me to focus and write an entire chapter in my entire life. I always got stuck on paragraph 2 in other apps. HOWEVER. Taking away my ability to write more pieces by only allowing me THREE MORE DOCUMENTS? I'm sorry, I love you, but I can't afford this.

I just started using this app recently. I have always made up stories about everything and now this app gave me the opportunity to write them down into real stories! It even has an option to help with writers block! ( which i get very often!) Every month it gives you 30 writers block prompts. With membership (100 dollars a year ) it gives you 150 a month! This app has saved me so much time! I love it!!!!

I LOVE THIS APP SOOOO MUCH!! BUT PLEASE.. can people have a way to earn prompts? Maybe like achievements, like- You reached 1000 words on this book, or something like that.

I like how I can easily see all my projects and also set word goals for my novels. I also LOVE the prompts BUT I hate that they are limited. I understand why there are limited only to 30 but still. I also wish it could suggest stronger words. That would make it way better. The app is pretty plain. Not customizable at all either. And also if you want to make the app a bit better you could pay 100 dollars, but I’m not gonna do that because I don’t have the kind of money hanging around. But overall, it’s a good app and I intend on keeping it.

I’ve used Werdsmith for many years now and truly enjoy its simplicity and convenience. I literally write anything and everything there…thoughts, ideas, podcasts, books, poems, etc. It allows me to house my projects and ideas to finish writing in the future. I also like the daily writing “ritual” feature with word count. Werdsmith has improved a lot over the years. I chose to stick with them & keep them as my “go-to” writing app because it’s clean, simple & a fun writing space. I don’t really need the ghost writing features but can certainly see where it could be useful for some. I do not like monthly or annual subscriptions but believe the developers should be financially supported. I prefer a one-time or multi-year upgrade for major updates, especially since I’m more of an intermittent & casual writer, not producing books on a regular basis. Great app!

This app is really good! I’ve only got one complaint. The ghostwriter is limited, so I can only use it 30 times. I have to get the Wordsmith Premium or whatever to use it unlimited. As younger person, this is really frustrating to me because I am not able to get the premium. But I still rate this five stars otherwise!!! 😁

This is a great app for writing! I use this so much to write my fiction stories!! One problem though… To use like half of the feature you need the premium. I wish you would have to pay once, then you’re good.

This app only works good on. Key board attachment to a iPad (witch i use) or a computer its harder on a phone or just a iPad (its hard for iPad since the digitize keyboard blocks the words) so if the game could have like a mode for different screen types (that you can change for stuff like vacations etc) to make it easier to type

UPDATE: I’m going to leave my original review too. But Werdsmith fixed my glitches and I was really happy! They have wonderful customer service and they update quickly. I do have a couple of suggestions after using Werdsmith for a while. (Note that Werdsmith could do without these suggestions) 1. If someone doesn’t have the premium thing or whatever, it would be great if the Ghostwriter could have 50 prompts instead of 30. The ghostwriter is really helpful and absolutely crushes my writers block! But sometimes I accidentally click on it, so if you don’t want to do 50, maybe just put a button like ‘are you sure you want a prompt’ or something like that. 2. I love that you can publish to portfolio, but I feel like not a lot of people would be able to see that. So, (this would be a big change), but I wish you could like view other writers things through the app. So, you could like go to a page that had writers works and you could search for a work. Kind of like Wattpad except just for writers and not just readers. 3. Maybe you could make something where it lets you pick/design a cover. I understand this would probably be a big update, but I think it would be really cool. Like, after you’re finished with a project, you could move it to a ‘complete with cover’ section or something and then you could pick your cover. 4. I wish you could add pages numbers. That would be really helpful. And then, to take it a step further, you could add a button on the bar with font size and that stuff that is “see all pages” and it takes you to a grid that shows you your pages. These would be big changes and I understand that, but I think other people have had these suggestions too, and I would be thrilled if you added one of these. I love how simple it is, and how it can give you prompts when you encounter writers block. I don’t even have premium or whatever, and I still love it. The ONLY reason I have it four stars is because it glitches out sometimes and deletes a little bit of your writing, which is unfortunate, but I can usually make up the writing I’ve lost. Or it glitches out when I’m deleting a lot of stuff, then it recovers it and I have to delete it again.
