Wikipanion for iPad

The app I didn’t know I needed. Massively helped with my education and keeping subjects organised.

Great app

I'm extremely impressed at the speed that the developer updated the app for slide over and split view in iOS 9. It was the first app I use to do it, much sooner than apps made me large companies. The reason for the four stars instead of five is that the 6 Plus in landscape mode doesn't take advantage of the extra space like it could. It should be like the top bar on iPad in portrait.

This app used to be so so great. In fact it was always my go to Wikipedia app for any mobile device. But now recent updates have ruined it! It is really slow and takes about a minute to open up properly.

Fails to find Wiki entries. For example I tried Llanfyllin and it thought it was French! But it's easily found in the main Wikipedia.

App crashes when using location service. Cannot be fixed by reinstalling app or rebooting iPad. Hope this issue can be fixed soon!!!!

Really nice Wikipedia app with an elegant interface. Highly recommended.

I have done a search using this app only to be told there are no references to what i am looking for on wikipanion or wikipedia. When i do a search on google for the same item lo and behold theres a link to wikipedia for the item I'm looking for. This has happened time and time again.

I don't bother using the web version of Wikipedia any more, I just go straight to this, that's how easy it is to use, especially the ability to read articles off line. Can't understand the low ratings here because it doesn't do what people want it to....I'd love it to make the tea, but just because it can't is no reason to give it a poor rating!

I want to be able to look up foreign words in Wiktionary and play the .ogg pronounciation files. Internet searches suggest this app is the way to do this. It isn't. No access to Wiktionary. No way to look up a foreign word.
