I got scammed with a huge amount through this app. I would alert everyone who is downloading app. Be cautious, and stay safe. Scammers are using app as it is secure and there no way to trace back.

I’ve been using Wire for years and it WAS always a great experience to use. it does have some very nice features, especially on mobile, and doesn’t require a phone number to sign-up, which is a huge bonus. That said, about 2 years ago it started to act in unexpected ways and hasn’t been the same since. In fact, I would say the experience keeps getting worse. Currently, the biggest issues I face are that it consistently freezes and crashes every time I load the app. Never used to do that up until about 6 mo the ago.

I was contacted via email to interview with @mellyperez on Wire. After an hour long “interview” they offered me the remote position at Renew Beauty a couple of days later. Ultimately they had me fill out forms for the onboarding process which included my date of birth, direct deposit info, and providing my drivers license. Although I was cautious with the info that I provided, I didn’t think too much of it until they said they’re having issues with their direct deposit and wanted me to deposit a check to pay for a company MacBook and phone. Still waiting to see what they will instruct me to do with the funds once the check clears but I’m pretty sure it’s a scam!! I’ve done everything i can to protect my accounts and credit. Hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else smh!!

They use email that seems to be the real company, and interview through this app. If someone asks you to download this app for interviewing, it’s a fraud.

Somone pretended to be a recruiter from zenimax studios

I was targeted by two different users on this app that are involved in a fake job scam. Preventative measures need to be put on this app so only real, verified people can use it.

I normally like this app but the last update made it stick on the black screen with the loading wheel. It’s been down for a couple days. I don’t want to uninstall the app because I had not backed up my messages in a couple weeks and I don’t want to lose them. Waiting for an update to fix in.
