Do not buy this brand of lock
There is no support and very frustrating set up. Will be returning the whole thing- lock, handle, as it’s useless if Amazon and Yale don’t support their apps.

App requires frequent log-ins. Functionality of the app is very limited. Most limiting factor for Yale is their customer service, which is the worst I've ever experienced.
Stuck on Step 3 of Setup Wizard “Account Setup”. Fill in all details in the format specified, the “Done” button turns yellow, I press it and it goes grey and spins for a few seconds and then goes back to being yellow and says “Done” again. Doesn’t proceed to Step 4, doesn’t email me or text me anything and doesn’t give an error or any other feedback. Have tried on the wife’s phone and with countless variations on password, PIN code, email address etc, all give the same frustrating result. Customer services closed and it’s bank holiday so will be 3 days until I can even speak to anyone. Really poor!
The app is often unresponsive and will not actually reflect the state of the alarm system. For example, even after having changed the battery in a particular sensor the hub still beeps and the app still says to change batteries. It says things like ‘tap for options’ without making a single option available. I only got this alarm system because it was relatively cheap and I am not at all impressed.
This app is truly terrible. Frequent login issues, often the state of my system is not accurately reflected (saying it’s armed when it isn’t). The whole selling point of this alarm system is the “smart” feature, so when the smart part doesn’t work most of the time what on Earth is the point? Probably best to avoid Yale completely imo.
Have had it installed for a week and it works fine. I had low hopes given the other recent reviews but I’ve had no issues. I think it’s a case of getting used to how it works and ensuring you have a solid wifi.
Alarm status often glitches within the app dashboard, more so since recently updated. We get push notifications that app is armed or disarmed, but if you open app and look at the status it’s armed? Have started just using keypad, as at least that work, but this system is very cheap and nasty - we only have it as previous homeowner installed it! 😑
Install my system about a month ago today the app just decided that it will just stay on fully armed , you can disarm the system but it then fully Arms itself again but only on the app the alarm isn’t armed ???
Just had the pleasure of being locked out of my house because this app wouldn’t let me disarm my alarm. The app wasn’t loading my devices and when it did, wouldn’t disarm them. Very disappointed, I would expect this to work flawlessly. Had to use keypad which set off the alarm and terrified the dog and took 3 tries to disarm. Now the app, when it does load, seems to still think the alarm is armed and weirdly the same issue is persisting on my partners device who likewise couldn’t disarm it either. Seriously considering changing alarm system all together and would suggest anyone else do the same as this app/alarm system is not with out flaws that display themselves at the least convenient moment.
Normally I press the ‘?’ button to see instructions for changing the batteries for door contacts. All I get are headings. Also the app needs a UI revamp. Even having this app for years I still find it a trial to find what I am looking for as the menu options are not self-explanatory. For example to get to a device to change batteries you do the following sequence: Menu Settings Alarm Settings Devices Then select your device These are too many steps to reach a main component of your alarm. Also why categorise devices as settings? Surely Devices would come under Menu? Apple Watch app is pointless if I need to log into the phone all the time. Additional issue. When changing a battery the app closes when the iPhone screen goes off. When I have finished changing the battery I get a tamper alert on the device.
