Deluxe generative edition of Brian Eno's acclaimed 2017 ambient album, Reflection.
"REFLECTION is the most recent of my Ambient experiments and represents the most sophisticated of them so far. My original intention with Ambient music was to make endless music, music that would be there as long as you wanted it to be. I wanted also that this music would unfold differently all the time - ‘like sitting by a river’: it’s always the same river, but it’s always changing. But recordings - whether vinyl, cassette or CD - are limited in length, and replay identically each time you listen to them. So in the past I was limited to making the systems which make the music, but then recording 30 minutes or an hour and releasing that. REFLECTION in its album form - on vinyl or CD - is like this. But the app by which REFLECTION is produced is not restricted: it creates an endless and endlessly changing version of the piece of music.” - Brian Eno

Является ли Brian Eno фейковым или мошенническим?
✅ Приложение Brian Eno кажется качественным и надежным. Пользователи очень довольны.
I was a little apprehensive at first dropping £30 on this app but I had used other Brian Eno / Peter Chilvers apps before and they were great and importantly updated over time to keep them working with IOS updates etc.
I still use Bloom a lot for creating hypnotic patterns. Listening to Bloom is good, but this app feels so much more sophisticated as a music generator. It really feels like someone is there making the music!
Perfect for listening anytime of the day and wonderful to sleep to. I often play Sounds of the Lid to drift off to sleep but this app has recently taken their place.
Ambient music on tap! Money well spent.
UPDATE: One small annoyance I've found from using the app over time is the timer controls are too close to the bottom of the screen and are very difficult to control. Not sure if this is just because I'm on an iPhone 11pro. They just need lifting further up into the screen as there is plenty of free space.
Still an amazing app that I use almost every day!
UPDATE 2: Still using the app pretty much every day! Been a life saver for relaxing during the past year of craziness!
Reflections on Reflection
After decades of listening to Brian Eno’s ambient music, it is now fused with my DNA. It is always somewhere in my life every day.
However, what I truly love and miss this time around - with Reflection - is a tiny bit of emotion here and there in the music, whether it is a slow withering texture or a slight chord change, a wash or something barely there. I do find the sound ingredients of Reflection to be a little limited, recognisable and mechanical. I find myself listening to LUX a lot more. I think it would be great if Brian added some new tints and textures here and there with each seasonal update to lend a little more feeling. I want this to be his best creation so badly! I’m here for this.

a great artwork...
...not just an app. This makes no pretence of “interactivity” Instead it generates a constantly evolving composition, which is certain to be enjoyed by people who enjoyed the ‘Music for Installations’ album or the eponymous one you can hear on Spotify. If you want a new version of those every time you listen, then this app is for you. The price seems steep by comparison to many apps, but they don’t have infinite boundaries. And if you’ve ever paid thirty quid (or more) to see an electronica artist ‘play’ music off their laptop, then imagine if that ticket got you the artist playing forever in your own home...
Just what I needed
Very good if you like Eno.
I’m toying with buying the Apple HomePod and wonder if anyone has managed to run this generative app there somehow, to run throughout the day without streaming from an iphone?
Not as good as I was expecting
For the price, i’m not very impressed with this. I haven’t heard the ‘static’ version of this album, but after about 30 minutes of listening to this app version, i’m already finding it a bit repetitive, there just doesn’t seem to be as much going on compared to the Scape app, which is far superior in my opinion and only half the price. It is still beautiful music, but I was expecting more to justify the price.
Amazing work of art
Amazing work of art which is totally worth the price. I listen to it often, sometimes for hours in the background, and it always puts me in a relaxed and creative mood. I also love how the music changes subtly with the seasons. Thank you for creating it!
Art you can use
It’s gorgeous, calming and fascinating. Worth it. Just bought it and hoping to hear one of the seasonal updates when spring rolls around. Hope there is a plan to keep this working for decades.
UPDATE: Spring 2018 just came on and it’s a subtle but noticeable change. Lovely.
Great App
I’ve really enjoyed this and have been using it at work for stress relief.
My app is still showing winter on start up? Looking forward to the summer update
Creativity
I have been using this app for nearly a year now and it’s proved to be superb as a backdrop to creative writing, reading and just general relaxing. I don’t know how Mr Eno has managed it but I never tire of it: sometimes keeping it on all day for days at a time. Amazing. Love the seasonal updates too. Thoroughly recommended.
Disappointed
Sigh I thought there would be something we could play with and make our own music.
