Catawiki - Online Auctions

I have been trying for more than two months to sell very rare stamps, but every time I put something up for sale, no one accepts it. I swear to you that I have never seen such negligence before. Shame on you all. You should put educated people, not idiots like you are now, idiots.

I received an email saying download the app for a chance to win £150 credit-it said once you download and open app, a virtual scratch card will appear. However, after downloading nothing happens, no pop up or messages. Nice con job Catawiki. I deleted the app promptly.

I’ve issues from the word go with this app. From creating an account to bidding. Winning a bid and the then nothing shows up in my orders- it’s super confusing and I’m starting to feel unsafe using it with my data. Needs a live chat or something to reassure but pretty sure no one is maintaining this app and bugs are mounting up.

…and don’t be fooled into thinking CW’s Customer Service dept. will support you if things go awry (it won’t). Note numerous recent negative reviews. Had incredible difficulty receiving a €300 item from Italy, which was returned to the Seller twice because I had import duty to pay (although UK courier partner - DPD - didn’t notify me of this, simply twice returning it). I advised CW of item non-receipt, which they completely ignored - instead actually releasing all funds to Seller. Thankfully Seller was honest and persistent, so item eventually arrived - but CW Support are **beyond useless**.

Catawiki has managed to send items to me on numerous occasion’s but on my last bid they changed the address and I did not receive, this was sent back to the seller and now Catawiki inform me i have to pay for postage due to their mistake.

Thus far I have made quite a few purchases using Catawiki auctions and generally my experience has been good. However , I have to state that the ‘protections’ offered when things do go wrong seems weak. In particular my personal experiences with STB art in Belgium leave me wondering whether I can be bothered buying again. All Catawiki seem to do is send what appear to be AI replies consisting of ‘please wait’ , ‘give the seller another chance’ etc etc . This particular seller has consistently ( over 4 or 5 purchases from me) failed to deliver in good time. Their tracking does not work and it would appear that Catawiki could care less about this. Needless to say I wont buy anything else from STB . At the very least , I would expect Catawiki to suggest that this seller adopted a more secure delivery courier.

In the past, I bought many items through Catawiki but then fell off for awhile as I used other platforms. I recently returned to Catawiki but have found that it has deteriorated significantly. It is very customer unfriendly and bureaucratic. Consequently, I am not going to be using this again anytime soon as there are far superior platforms. Additionally, I find that sellers on Catawiki charge ludicrously exorbitant rates for postage/shipping. The fact that Catawiki permits this is a disgrace.

As an amateur watch collector is great to find somewhere that has such a multitude of watches of all types , reasonable auction fees too . Bought several now able to pick and choose a bit more but still check in case something different I hadn’t considered catches my eye . Don’t always win , but do like that confetti moment.

After dedicating time and effort into monitoring, bidding and buying I realized all of this was a waste of my time as the buyer did not want to post to the UK…. No problem but nice if they’d said that prior to me investing time and effort into the bidding and buying process. At least now I know I can pick and choose when and who I sell to in the future.

I sent catawiki a major concern on authenticity I don’t believe their investigation it to be accurate but have to accept it I refused to accept the item and not pay and catawiki then block my account not good after spending big!
