Incredible app!! The best way to learn hiragana and katakana!! Wish there were more apps like this! Such a useful resource!!

Looks nice and I like the material. App could be better though: doesn’t work offline, no way to repeat ‘lessons’

I’ve only been using this app for maybe 10 mins, but I’m genuinely shocked these stories are actually helping me remember, I’m just hoping they will in the long run too!

A simple app without too much unnecessary fuss. Does a good job of guiding you through the Hiragana and then Katakana separately. The “bonus lesson” on ten-ten and chou-on etc is rather dense. My main criticism is that many of the pre-made mnemonics for the characters didn’t work well for me — there should be a way of adding your own. I would prefer it if they were more about the shape of the character (the futon based ones for フ、ヲ、ウ etc are good) and less about silly stories, especially like ミ using 3 blind mice even though the sound is mi and not mai. Some extra lessons focusing on the easily-confused characters like シ·ツ ,マ·ム、ク·タ etc would also be useful.

Full list of hiragana and katakana for £5 is a decent price. The hiragana use clever stories and the katakana build on these, testing you along the way. Well designed and fun.

Fabulous study aid which compliments my once weekly class on the r emailing 6 days. So important to do a daily challenge! Absolutely love it, great sense of achievement when I get right. Really attractive design, so cute and a joy to use.

I try this by chance whilst on my (long) metro commuting during my first day in Tokyo. Very happy I bought the whole course (Hiragana and Katakana). In less then two weeks of daily commute metro trips, I could learn and practice to read and write the two alphabets.

This app is brilliant to memorise both hiragana and katakana. The little hints and tips make it so much easier plus it was fun! I take my Japanese language learning seriously and I needed something that could help me; this was the best app I could find! Now I can see hiragana and katakana and instantly recognise what they are; it’s exciting when you advance in something you’re passionate about. This is a must-have app for those wanting to learn hiragana and katakana. さようなら！

Fantastic App. After knowing nothing about the Japanese written language I feel more confident reading and identifying Hiragana and Katakana characters. Activities were fun and really memorable. Definitely recommend!
