Mochi - Flashcards and notes

The best application that I use every day, but often kicks out the user, and now it says "Fetching local data" and does not open.

I could never get into Anki on my desktop, but Mochi is perfect for my studying. Paired with Obsidian, Markdown, and LaTeX, I can easily write out math examples, theorems, and formulas directly from my existing notes. The multiple card sides let me actively work through steps in examples again. Problems with the app completely prevent me from effectively using it. They just seem to be overlooked things when making a combined Mac/iPad app, fair enough. On an iPad Air 5, resizing the app either in side-by-side or Stage Manager will cause the UI to break. Touch points are unresponsive (or touch in the old locations) and elements such as the menu disappear. Paired with a Magic Keyboard, keyboard shortcuts seem to break (when editing cards at least) due to the floating keyboard menu that appears. It pushes the toolbar up, and the shortcuts no longer work. A workaround is to disconnect and reconnect the keyboard, or hold Command to bring up the global shortcuts overlay, in hopes that it will not overlay the keyboard menu after. Every new release, the note “bug fixes” makes me hopeful that I can really start to use this app.

Love it!!! I’ve been looking for something like this for years!!! I love how functional it is as you can use it as flashcards and notebooks for your thoughts! And it’s free!!!!!

I've been needing reminder flash cards with the Active Memory Recall idea of being given to you again after a set period of time which gradually gets longer each time you remember it - and this ticks all of those boxes wonderfully, without any annoying ads or features. Thank you!

Been using daily for several months now. Great product! Really simple to use in a basic way but lots of cool feature hiding under the surface for those looking to automate flash card development and make more complex cards. Developer is very responsive to questions and suggestions.

I looked at every flash card app out there. I must have downloaded half a dozen apps that either were simply too expensive, too limited, or their UX/UI was outright awful (looking at you, Anki). Mochi beats them hands down. Easy to understand, looks good, and the kicker is excellent Markdown support, including code blocks. Keep up the great work!

this was my first attempt at spaced repetition studying, this app is great for that. i like how I can see my notes as they r fully or I can study as flash cards. It does not let me export my decks but for now that’s fine for me personally. I imagine though this is more important for other people.

I would give the app a 5 if I could name the decks so it would be organized but overall the app is really good

When I try to create a new deck on my phone, it’s always named as “New Deck”. There’s no way to change its name.
