Roadtrippers - Trip Planner

Started to use it 2 years and recommended it to many of the friends. It was the fantastic app, the best. Recently they limited amount of waypoints in a free version to only 7 (!). Basically pushing you to buy unfairly expensive annual license. Bye-bye Roadtrippers, you were good, but now you’re dead. Will miss you.

I don’t recommend it at all . While just make anyone nervous .

I've used roadtrippers for planning my US trip. While it does a good job at putting together multiple points of interest, it is a complete nightmare managing. 1. You can add participants to the trip, but they won't be able to amend it. It's a huge disadvantage for group trips. 2. Finding points of interest seems straightforward, but in fact gives you wrong selection, and found points constantly blink which makes the whole feature complete rubbish. 3. Instead of background saving, every single action renders app inoperable for good 5-10 seconds. In fact, the app does not save a single thing and just fetches data back and forth with the server. Way to go when you are traveling!

BUYER BEWARE: the “7 day free trial” is a scam & they no longer offer a prorated refund when you call them out on the scam. You must cancel 24 hours PRIOR to the end of your 7 day trial or they charge you, and they do not send any reminder correspondence. I failed to do so because I assumed I had the full 7 days, as advertised. When you reach out to customer for a prorated refund, which they did for me in 2023, they claim to have updated their refund policies and no longer offer refunds. I only chose to try the “7-day” free trial a year later because they locked my previously planned trips and I was hoping they had improved some of the things people were complaining about in 2023… shocker, they raised the price, secretly changed their refund policies and membership tiers, and then baited customers whose trips were locked into a new 7-day trial after having fixed NOTHING and then secretly charge them 24 hours before the advertised 7-day trial was up. Talk about shady! This app is absolutely unsatisfactory and terribly hard to use. Not user friendly whatsoever. It is beyond disorganized. Please do yourself a favor and avoid at all costs! It’s not worth the money and do not get baited into the “free” trial.

Update: I submitted a refund through Apple and received it with minimal effort. Beware. I did the trial and then cancelled my subscription one day prior to the renewal to avoid a hefty $64.94 for a service I won’t personally end up using. And then I was charged anyway. Currently awaiting a resolution and will update my review if this is corrected promptly.

Do not pay for this app. They will automatically renew without your consent and then refuse to refund you. A predatory business.

I've been a Roadtrippers premium membership user for the last few years, but tonight I log in and see that everything I had saved is now locked and unviewable. I also see that they've changed the membership tiers and to get the same access as before I need to pay almost TWICE as much! Such a slap in the face to see that from an app I've loved and used so much for the last few years. Sadly this app is now just a rip off 😭

They give no notice of when the term renews and make it difficult to cancel.

It’s just loading….. but it’s not. All the buttons are froze and if you totally close it out and open it up again it goes right back to loading…. But it’s not!!

This app does nothing unless you subscribe to the most expensive plan. I bought the midrange plan, and it’s useless. It’s supposed to plan a trip for me within the parameters I set. You complete all the info screens only to get to the end and be told you have to upgrade to the top plan to see your trip. Everyone who complains gets a lie response from the developer, who does not acknowledge anything that’s dishonest about this app. Find something else.
