RocaNews: Unbiased & fun news

Up until about a month ago this would easily be a 4 or 5 star app for its engaging and interesting news coverage - especially of smaller and wide ranging stories. The only problem I would have had would be it’s tendency to be America-centric but what isn’t these days. But no, recently the app has become an unenjoyable experience with it frequently crashing, being slow, and sometimes even not loading for hours. It’s unfortunate as I love the app if it functions properly and I hope this can be fixed soon but these recent developments have been really disappointing.

I love this app, especially the way that they cover news. However the app is becoming unusable. Just navigating the app causes my phones temperature to ramp, and it freezes/crashes all them time. Even swiping between slides makes the phone struggle. It even slows down the phone outside of using it if the app is open in the background. Also forget swapping to another app when it freezes as it stops the whole phone not just the roca app It would have been 5 stars if I’d reviewed 2 months ago but now I’m thinking about deleting the app.

Live the content but the app is so buggy. Open from a notification and never recognises I have a subscription, need to close app and reopen. Used to crash and be really slow, that seems to have improved. I won’t be renewing my sub, as the app is so poor, shame.

Excellent app, love the interesting news and stories it gives. However I agree with other reviews that it’s far too US based at the moment. I know they’re only a small company at the moment so I hope in the future they’ll have sections dedicated to other countries e.g. the UK where I know they have a massive following!

Do not waste your time, it is not straight forward, game orientated, quizzes and facts about Roca and no simple button get the headline news. Don’t waste your time and get back to the facts and keep it simple if that changes I will download again.

Although the app seems really good at first, most of its news is kind of delayed which is mostly fine but the annoying thing about it is that 3/6 stories seem to be American only and more and more things seem to be becoming more American centred. I get it is an American company but it would be better if it was international news instead that could be interesting to all of us.

It’s a good concept quite a lot of the questions are based about what going on in America. So if your not American you won’t get the questions right. There was a test the other day about American football teams, being European we don’t know anything about that.

This app motivates you to keep up to date on the latest news while also giving you fun and engaging activities to up your knowledge and share ideas within the community. However, many of these activities are too US-centric and I think it’d go a long way to implement more international information in these activities to help people learn more about other countries/cultures and even attract a wider, international audience for the app

I’ve read Roca on Instagram for years now and it’s always been my favorite news source. At first I wasn’t sure what it it could offer that I’m not getting on insta but I’m glad I got it. I love the app! It has stories that aren’t featured other places, graphics, games, and interactive forums that make me excited to open it each day and see what’s new. I have recommended the Roca app to all my friends!
