Runcoach

Not the best app in terms of ease of use and development. But coaching wise I found it very useful. This has the potential to be excellent but needs a rework. Until the past few weeks it worked very well now. Now I have continued issues with it.

I tried the trial for the app and found the coaching feature come across really fake and felt very much like a chat bot so I cancelled that as it is definitely not worth the money. The design is pretty bad, like it was designed in early 2000s the UX is clunky and also have issues with some syncing. Having said that I have enjoyed the free version or the actual training content and this has been good so far with offering the training and planning I need to stay on track for my half marathon. It has great potential they just need to do a major refresh of the app.

Asked me to sign up. Then looks like it’s going to ask questions but the UI breaks.

Shame. Although I can set Kilometres as my distance unit, the running plan text still says miles. And the dates are all in US format.

I can’t even sign up, as the questions are either missing or in white text?!? Just gives me a drop down box of random answers I have no idea what for 😂 useless... using the app is also impossible, half of the pages have no text at all, and I’ve been automatically signed up for a £70 gold trial... no thanks BE CAREFUL DOWNLOADING THIS AWFUL APP!!!

Run Coach is evidently created by runners it follows the common training setup. The ability to adapt makes it stand out from all other running apps and adjusts if a number of unplanned races come up. The settings allow me to adjust the plan to suit me. In the future I would to see the ability to add a 3rd workout to your week or double days as an experienced runner as myself is lookin for those in a training plan.

Downloaded the app and needed assistance to adjust settings to make it accessible. Was told to use the settings on my phone to see it better...... Not helpful considering my phone is already set up for my visual problems. The app developers have just been lazy in not making it accessible to all!

Good marathon training app, the best around, fully customisable and adapts to your progress, The team have very kindly made tweaks to my schedule and pushed them out over the air . Very happy would recommend !

The app automatically signs you up to a gold membership on a free one month trial. Once the months up it’s $100 for the year! If you cancel this you don’t have access to the adaptive feature of the training plan which was the main selling feature. Added to that, the app is sluggish and once linked with my Strava it pulled through all of my past data!! Some runs pulled through 2 or 3 times so my mileage was all out. Cancelled & deleted within half an hour of downloading!

I get the feeling this was built by someone unfamiliar with smartphones. Functionality is rubbish and design is poor.
