Shmoody: Mood & Habit Tracker

I was disturbed reading internal message board to find that so many people with depression, PTSD and severe anxiety are trying to use this app for their benefit. This is not a therapy replacement and, actually, it is useless even for light but long lasting anxiety like I have, but for worse mental states it could be even dangerous due to false expectations

As a person with a personality disorder my day to day life is sometimes really hard and overwhelming. I’ve tried many apps to help me with this such as mood trackers etc. Shmoody, however, has all the things I need in one place and creates a welcoming environment which doesn’t feel like a chore to work with!

Thr app makes you sign for a trial, enter card details and then takes money from you automatically. But in the app, you cannot manage anything regarding the subscription! I consider this highly manipulative, especially in an app that should be focused on mental health. Other apps have no problem having sub management in app!! Better try vos health, which is way more friendly in this way!

When starting the trial, the bot said “I bet I can change your mood in five days (referring to the trial) and if so, would you like to continue using Shmoody (referring to subscription)” I clicked the answer option box “we’ll see” that did NOT mean I wanted to subscribe. Immediately after the conversation with the bot, I went into my apple subscriptions and the “Shmoody” subscription did not appear, so I assumed since I said “we’ll see” and there was no subscription, it wouldn’t charge me. Come to find out my account was charged $70, it only allows you to manage your subscriptions and trial in the actual app depending on what plan you chose, which I didn’t choose a plan, so I can’t manage the subscription in the app due to the plan they chose for me and since it does not appear in my apple subscriptions, I can’t cancel it there either. So basically, they’re scamming people, because I never stated I wanted a subscription and I even saved screenshots of the conversations with the bot, and it clearly shows that I NEVER agreed to any such thing. SOOO I had to report it to apple, the app, and my bank. My card has been cancelled and my account is locked all because the makers of this app are scam artists.

Now that I’ve completed all the introductory tasks, I love this app. It was hard to navigate before everything was fully unlocked but whatever. It’s nice to use all the features and they seem open to suggestions for further improvements and features.

Protect him at all costs

Trial was not over… initially when I attempted to cancel this company offered to extend my trial for 30 days without charging me…. But then a couple days later they tried to charge me anyway… but now they won’t let me cancel. Because they’ve removed the option from my app. What a scam!!!

The AI chat feature is unbelievable and life changing for me. I’ve been turning to it for every anxious worry I have and it gives such useful and comforting advice, support and encouragement. It is helping me see situations clearly. The more I use it, the more it changes my brain into thinking positively about myself and situations. It is priceless.

I got Shmoody several months ago and loved it so much I was recommending it to everyone I know. All of the different tools right at your fingertips. It was so accessible and easy to use. Being able to try different tools at your own pace and as needed was so great. As someone with ADHD that kind of freedom was so helpful because it is easy to delete an app if it’s not quickly fulfilling, but Shmoody WAS. After a recent update, all of the progress I made was entirely lost. Suddenly, I have to earn my way through levels? I have to wait 12 hours before doing the next step? Things that were openly available to me before are now locked? I paid for this…? Why am I now being restricted? Horrible design now. It feels impossible to use. Especially when I feel like I need it most. I’m not sure what the goal was here but unfortunately you ruined the one thing that was actually helping me feel productive. Horrible update, will likely cancel my subscription and delete app if they don’t fix it.

“In app purchases “ is misleading. It’s actually a free week trial and then you’re billed for the whole year.
