Pls, add Apple Pay or at least let us add regular credit card, I am tired every time putting my credit card information(((
Purchased a prepaid eSIM and they require A LOT of sensitive information to complete. Even then, the app is slow, buggy, and barely works. Stay away!
Cannot even upload my photo ID for tourists eSIM Tried so many times Wasted my money $12 for it
This app is terrible. It’s goes into a death loop telling me I’m not in Singapore when I’m right in a Singapore and GoogleMaps location shows it. It refuses to let me register my eSIM. There is no help or useful troubleshooting. Is this even a Singapore product?
My employer rotates staff through Singapore and we each maintain a prepaid SIM/local mobile number. When out of the country we customarily extended our SIM expiry 2-3 times via a reasonably priced 60 or 90 day extension fee using hi!app. This meant we could keep our same phone numbers for when we return on the next rotation in ~6 months time, at which point we top up again for a full service data and call plan to use while locally based. SIM extension also meant we could maintain access to our Singapore bank accounts and government apps while away, which all now use our mobile numbers for 2-factor authentication, login and important SMS alerts, without constantly churning through new numbers. Some of us have maintained services with SingTel for a decade or more, extending when we are not there, and topping up to an expanded plan when we are back. SingTel has now killed this expiry extension option (as of the end of January) citing it is “no longer attractive” for users. The only way to maintain our phone numbers is to pay a monthly top up for ~6 months of services we can’t use and don’t need while away from Singapore. The cost is tenfold or more of what expiry extension has cost us up to this point. This is a grossly unfair and shortsighted move by SingTel and it will see all of our users now switch away to another provider like M1. Scores of SingTel customers online who are in the same boat are complaining about this and its fallen on deaf ears at SingTel. A bad move, guys.
Can’t activate the sim yourself with this app because it asks for an e-mail you didn’t input when you bought the card. So then you need to visit a Singtel store, where you can expect a half hour wait while all the regular customers get to jump the queue. The person who served me was good though, got it activated, and I could use it in Singapore. But I paid SGD$15 for 100GB roaming South East Asian countries, then it wouldn’t work in Malaysia or Thailand like it was supposed to. Still have 99.64 GB I can’t use. My advice - don’t waste your precious holiday mucking around with Singtel tourist sims - just buy a new local one in each country you visit - they only take 5 minutes to set up.
I’m a tourist, purchased eSIM online thinking it will be easy and fast but have not been able to verify details or register the tourist eSIM. Keep getting an error code and that the ref and verification code doesn’t match. Called customer service and confirm details match and that they will call me back tomorrow once receive details from escalation team. This is quite inconvenient as I’m only in Singapore for 5 days and already losing a day. Reading previous reviews this doesn’t seem to be an isolated event. Really not impressed..
