Sonder - A Better Way To Stay

I see that some reviews were left over a year ago, but not much changed. All just to get a confirmation of a booking I already paid for. - 4 hours chatting to get a confirmation of phone number (no texts from Sonder seems to be reaching me). - Constantly asking me to make an internationally call to USA to solve their (!) issue. -You then have to delete the app and install it again, so it is your last step, no matter that you have already chatted with them for hours and hours through the actual app! This is all crazy and i didn’t yet even arrive at the place.

I am very disappointed. They have made my stay here disgusting. Invasion of ants, rudeness of your staff, constant smoking of marijuana by neighbors. When I reported these issues, the administrator didn't trust me and had to take the time to prove it to them. I don't recommend anyone to use this company. When I asked for a refund for the remaining period, they fooled my head for 10 days and eventually refused. Prices are very high, on Airbnb you can find better and cheaper options. I have been trying to get the check-in details for 3 hours because of technical issues with the app: it was displayed that I need to download the app, what I had already done at that moment. After starting three chats with the support I have found out that I need to verify my id. But again: there was no link for it. Regarding the app: It’s not possible to copy text from the chat, thus each time the support agent sends a link you need to type it manually. It’s not possible to upload photos to the chat to prove that there is a problem with the app. It is not possible to continue the chat with the same support agent whom you have already explained everything after you close the chat or an app.

What a horrid experience. App errors galore as I was unable to load my stay. Once logged into the app no ability to recover an existing registration (or at least no clear way to start the process from the Stays screen).

Really the best of both worlds for AirBnB and hotel type stays. If you don’t have a large group, Sonder is the way to go.

Not sure which update broke the app but nothing loads, this includes the chat which has been offline for my entire stay. Noisy upstair neighbours, echos in the hallways, coffee maker is broken. Lifeless rooms turned into hotels.

Just like the hotel rooms, the app is elegantly designed, very intuitive and offers comprehensive information and services to make your trip as fluid as possible. 100% impressed!

I thoroughly enjoyed my 2-day stay at Sonder Arlo, Ottawa! Sonder exceeded my expectations in cleanliness, decorations, accessibility, check-in/out, and overall value, all rated at a perfect 10/10. The suite was well-equipped with essentials like iron, dishes, boiler, microwave, towels, and cutlery, providing a seamless online check-in/out experience. The place felt brand new and immaculate, with all necessary amenities, though I experienced a slight issue with the air conditioner, which dropped to 19-20 degrees when I left the suite. Despite this, I highly recommend Sonder for a delightful stay, and everything else surpassed my expectations.
