This is my favourite IOS synth for sound and deep programming. There a cloud sync feature to sync presets between VST and IOS…. And then they blow it all by breaking Logic Pro round-trip functionality. When you open a Logic Project it can’t find SynthMaster 2. Every other app at least opens in Logic but not this one. It ends up being such a pain I just don’t use it any more, which is a real shame. If everyone else can do this KV331, so can you…. Come on!

I’ve been shopping around for sometime for a quality synthesiser to use as an (AUv3) plugin on Logic Pro for iPad. I misguidedly first downloaded a £20 app that has received a lot of hype in 2024. Unfortunately it was so unstable as an AUv3 plugin I quickly got a refund from Apple and with a more careful approach decided to purchase SynthMaster 2. Todate I’ve had no issues with stability in Logic Pro on the iPad and I’m continually stunned by the awesome power of this quality product. A big thank you to KV331 for such a fantastic and powerful AUv3 plugin. TM

Still one of the best synths on iOS.

Over the years I have collected dozens and dozens of synth apps (all the latest) on my iPad which I use in Cubasis3, but out of all of them Synthmaster 2 is the most used and useful synth for every category of sound required, whether it be all out electronic to jazz, blues or rock tracks - SM2 fits the bill and is my preferred go to app.

Since iPadOS16.5 update, the midi learn mappings in SM2 have remained in place to this day, now I can rely on this fine synth for live work 🙂👍 23rd Feb. This app has a brilliant sound but unfortunately it is so unreliable when it comes to Midi Learn….it constantly forgets what it has learned, and preset organisation is a complete waste of time if you intend using Midi Bank/Program Change messaging in your projects, you will discover the wrong presets are being called up unexpectedly…..a massive constant bug! Money not well spent I’m afraid ☹️

It’s a great app but unfortunately it doesn’t work properly in Logic Pro for iPad. It’s crashing continuously and automation doesn’t work. Hopefully the developer will fix this issues soon. Till then 4 stars because I can’t use it anymore because I love Logic Pro for iPad.

Money not well spent I’m afraid ☹️ 28th July This latest v1.0.14 update has now put everything right and made SM2 a mighty powerful clean sounding synth 👍 1st July I am pleased to write that the latest update v1.0.12 has now fixed the problems listed below. A big thumbs up to the developers for their quick response 👍 24 June. Just updated app to v1.0.11 and all presets have become low-fi and sound muffled, the export/import midi mappings feature in preset menu has been removed. I’m sure this will soon get fixed, but if you rely on SM2 like I do, then I suggest you wait until v1.0.12 update is released. MAY. Update v1.0.10 has now made SM2 so much more reliable. MIDI Mappings can now be exported and then imported if any midi learn parameters disappear - I had to close SM2 after importing mappings, then relaunch it for import to take affect, but also remembering to note the selected preset first - SM2 will revert to default preset on relaunch. All parameters can now also be successfully automated (in Cubasis 3). Sound creation is now endless and effortless, just superb. 👌

SynthMaster 2 is a marvellous place to be… buy it now!!! Well worth the money!! 🙂
