So far this app does not work its trying to find my device

Really wanted this to work. Disappointed. Wanted to use this for watching movies on my laptop and sending the audio to my iPhone that’s connected to my speakers. But the audio is not in sync with the movie. Too bad.

The update is a really solid improvement. The app loads more quickly and the controls are responsive enough. Thanks Rogue Amoeba!

Can only use your phone to control airfoil on a computer, why do I even need this app? Why don’t I just use the computer. Don’t like it. I want for my phone without the use of the computer.

I was looking for a way to control sound from my iPhone. It does what it was designed for but not what I had hoped from the description.

It does what it say, I can watch video on my big screen with the sound coming out of my phone’s speaker. But there is a ~2 seconds delay for the sound. I could work with it if the software was free. Not gonna pay the 30$USD after the trial though.

It doesn’t work

The app isn’t even optimized for the iPhone X/XS displays, and also it quite often doesn’t connect to an airfoil running on a separate computer. The support for the app is useless, I’ve reached out a few times about these issues and have gotten no response.

The concept is amazing. Speakers throughout the house connected via bluetooth or connected through an old phone or ipad. (Finally a good use for my old devices) reuse, reduce, recycle. Ya, that old thing. Unfortunately there are times when the sync is way off or it sounds like a thumb is slowing down the turn table. (You have to be old or hipster to get that reference;) Any way, *really* jarring. A sickly sound as the speakers try to sync up and fail horribly. The app needs to be shut down and rebooted. Other times the timing is off by a hair and it has a concert echo that is kinda cool but not always. Then there is the satellite app that disconnects every so often. In conclusion; when it works it’s great. When it fails it is unbearable. Not worth the price for a glitchy tool. My set up: A) wifi iPad attached via headphones port to tuner and stereo. B) Bluetooth speaker C) second Bluetooth speaker D) apple tv (1st gen) With all playing there is wicked latency and frequent drops. Ok for personal use. Trouble shooting at the hight of your epic new years party- Not recommended.

Use to change the Local Playback Latency to 0.2 on the macOS app when opening in debugging mode. However, that doesn’t seem to work anymore. Was using an older Airfoil app, but it stopped working with High Sierra. Setting the latency to 0.2 made it so you could actually watch videos with Airfoil. ...there does seem to be Advanced Speaker Options on the macOS app, but still can’t get a low enough latency to watch videos.
