Roon

Great software… when it works. When it stops working - and it does, frequently - you need to be an IT expert to get it working again. Since most users aren’t IT experts it’s doubly frustrating that Roon offers no phone support at all and it’s incredibly difficult to even log an issue.

I really regret buying this app and I pay for lifetime license, the app design is garbage, is not a native iOS app so is not smooth and interface is 1 star, the big problem is they believe is a great interface so they will never fix it, take look at Plexamp app very well done really great interface and very smooth app and it only cost 120 for lifetime license, don’t buy this Roon mediocre app

The iOS app keeps crashing and even mid-song will display a different song, with the only option being to press play and then stop if you want to turn off the system. I tried Roon once before and enjoyed it for the most part, but since I run Apple “everything” I’m very disappointed in the app. It’s very frustrating and really ought to be better given the Roon subscription cost and the endless hype in the magazines and online reviews.

Roon is great but the iOS app is unusable. Crashes every 10 seconds even without touching it.

It is a wonder Roon is held in such high esteem among audiophiles, or is “meant to” at least.. It doesn’t WORK. Yes, you can get it to play your music for you. It upsamples all files played (!!) but don’t get excited - it will sound *identical* to playing through Tidal or wherever the file originates from. Something as basic as your Artists and Albums section - will be littered with literally dozens or hundreds of artists and albums you never saved - never even heard of! Why are they there?? Can you get rid of them? No! Simply scrolling through those artists you’ve never heard of will also lead to CRASHES! Regular crashes and of course when you relaunch the app you have to navigate back to your spot and by the 3rd time you will just give up and use the Tidal app instead.. because wait for it.. it WORKS. I’m in Canada and after tax I was charged around $160 for one year and yes I am a FOOL for not canceling the trial before I was auto-charged for the year. Take the money and buy a few LPs and your significant other some flowers!

I have been patient and we are no into year 2 of an unusable iOS controller. Crashes writhing 10 seconds of use on iPhone 12 and iPad Pro. This is has been so known issue for way way way to long. I have been a loyal fan boy and defended Roon for a long time. But enough is enough. Before the latest update it seemed promising and was working a bit more stable and in the latest update we are back to crashes in a few seconds again. At this point a new build from the ground up seems like the best option. If I can not control the system then I can not use Roon. It saddens me that this expensive software is so unusable.

The app crashes a lot. And by a lot, I mean all the time. It’s gotten to the point that it’s completely unusable, crashes within the first 20 seconds every time it’s launched. Absolutely unacceptable.

It will be 1 year soon and I will renew. Never had a problem running it.

Fantastic app and system with a R.O.C.K. Well worth the subscription fee. So easy to get lost in music and bios for hours.

Can't really use this remote. Even the latest app update crashed. Willing to help the developers reproduce the error.
