Features
Programs
Alive includes 20 different programs to choose from based on your personal goals. When you join a program you are guided through a full schedule of workouts that span over several weeks. This takes any guesswork out and keeps you focused on your goals.
Challenges
Alive strongly believes your mental health is just as important as your physical health and has designed 30-day challenges where those intersect. Each challenge contains daily tasks, mindful mobility, workouts, and journal prompts. These challenges will help you push your limits and uncover new habits to live a healthier day-to-day life.
Daily Workouts
Alive includes over 100 daily workouts that are split up into different categories (HiiT, Abs, Pull, etc) so you can decide what type of workout you want to do.
Journey
The path to a fit, healthy life is a journey, not an overnight process. The journey allows you to keep track of your progress by weight, photos, and a timeline of progress. Alive also has the capability of syncing your active minutes and weight data with Apple Health. Consistency is key so as you continually hit your goals the app will reward you with achievements along the way!

What a beautiful day to be alive

Love this app, definitely worth the money. I used to hate going to the gym but now I love it’

Tried for 2 months..

It was great at first… but as I kept going on an 8 week program all the workouts were repetitive.. it was disappointing. I went to look at other weekly programs they offered and they were very similar. It’s very well set up and easy to use.. but I’m not a beginner in the gym and I was annoyed at the repetitive workouts.. they got boring.

Limited functionality

So the app is great for video workouts for each set. But I don’t understand why it doesn’t have a search function. There are so many workouts in the view all section, why would I want to scroll through so many? It wastes my time. Also if certain gym equipment isn’t available, it doesn’t allow you to replace it with an equivalent. There are many apps out there that already do this. Don’t get this app.

This app changed my life for the better. Step by step workout routines, plans, and encouraging notes all throughout!

My favorite workout app, it has a timer for your rest periods, shows you how to do the workouts and you can move around the days or workouts to what you can do.

Glitch in most recent update

I’ve been using this app for a few months and I love it! It’s been good for me to have structure. But I was forced to update the app yesterday and it has a super annoying glitch—when I’m completing a daily session, the app stops my music every time it switches to a new workout. I had to end my workout and just look at my screen after that. It would be great if this could be fixed soon so that I can keep using the app.

Issue with third party app playing music?

Here to help57 on

Usually everything works fine but there are certain workouts that cause my music when the timer starts to go off. I’ll have to start my music again only for it to stop again when the time goes off every 30 seconds and it’s super frustrating. Does anyone else have this issue? I’ve been told to close the app and re download and start it over but nothing works.

Hi! I have been using the Alive app for about 6 or so months and here are a few things I wish were different. Overall I love the app but just wanted to see if the developers can add: 1. Option for user to include portions of the workout- example: I like to do stairmaster after a lifting session or during my rest days but there’s no way to input that. 2. For the programs: rest days get automatically checked off it’d be helpful to actually have a 24 hour count or something so that it’s accounted for (we don’t forget it’s a rest day) 3. If we do an alternative movement, could we select it so we have our progress. 4. Is there a way to show progressive overload a bit easier (maybe with a reminder under the weight) or something like that. 5. If there could be some description of the modeled exercise that would be great. 6. A way to integrate other weight tracking apps: renpho scale and my fitness pal for example! Thank you so much- I love this app.

Love the workout programs, but a few glitches/frustrating issues

Ellajr2 on

I love Whitney and I love how this app is structured. There’s so many workout programs short term and long term and so many customizations to make them work for everyone. I’m in my first week of using the app and I’m doing the legs get it program. I’ve been loving the workouts themselves so far, but I’ve had a few recovering problems with glitches in the app that have made it frustrating to use. The first glitch was that when logging the weight and reps it doesn’t let me change the rep count and I have to press the save button many times in a row before it actually works. The other major problem I have is that twice now my entire workout has been lost. I clicked complete workout and the screen was just spinning for 10+ minutes, so I decided to close out the screen and reopen the app. Both times my 1.5 hour workouts were lost. I think this is a major flaw that should be changed. It would be helpful if the app would save your progress even if you close the app, either by accident or on purpose, because I’m sure that happens all the time. So it’s just frustrating that I can’t see my true active minutes right now, which is why I give it 3 stars.
