UPDATE 2023.08.09: I finally decided, with no help from AP comments here, to uninstall the app. After two updates, AP programmers (from China??) couldn’t fix app crashes. Solution for me was to fully uninstall and reinstall. Thankfully I have a login, so my saves stories were preserved. ORIGINAL: In previous generation iOS ,15.7.8, app start presents “Cannot update your feed” and then crashes.
UPDATE 2023.10.18: AP News app still pushes sports feeds, even that I have them marked off. I don’t need sports. I need news!
Bad Update
I had to drop this app after it kept freezing up on me. Worked fine until latest update, now screen freezes and is a bear to get out of. I’ll check back next year to see how it’s performing.

I beta tested this update. A problem still persists. You cannot scroll smoothly through content. The app stalls out/freezes making reading through a story very frustrating. The look is improved but beauty is nothing without function.

The one issue I have is, once I am in the app it is extremely slow to respond.
New update and new app changes are HORRIBLE
The new update and style is so bad. The AP is in my opinion the most trustworthy place to get one’s news.
It was almost certainly my most used app.
The new update is a hot mess, littered with bugs and non user friendly “upgrades”.
It’s almost as though the AP got rid of whoever was doing the old app and replaced them with someone of complete incompetence.
Can we just have the old app back please, I never asked for this mess of an update?
Laggy
After the update, the app has become unusable due to the amount of freezing it does while scrolling.
Latest Update Huge Performance Hit
The hangs and freezes on the app make it unusable. I’m currently on iOS 17. I hoping the next update fixes this!
New Version Super Slow
The new version is super slow, jittery, I’m so frustrated with this please fix it!
Too many ads
So disappointed in new version of AP. This is the only news app that I trust. But now it is riddled with ads and it's impossible to read a news article to its finished. I would pay an annual fee to eliminate ads

Latest release is very slow, scrolling is clunky. Non-responsive.
