AV CONTROLLER Reviews

Yes, it does work!

Edward Snowedin on

Australia

I have used this in the past to control the two zones of my HTR-6067 with great success. When something changes, like a new phone, it can be frustrating getting it to work again. Today was one of those days and I want to repeat the advice found on an older review. If using an iPhone make sure to check under Settings | Privacy & Security | Local Network, that Musicast is enabled. Everything works as expected after that.

Looks nothing like the pictures

I’ve just installed the app and looks nothing like the pictures and keeps asking for music cast.

Didn’t control Yamaha RX-A2A

Dwldwl on

Australia

Didn’t really work with Yamaha A2A but when it did find the device it created a link that opened the MusicCast app, which seems to do most things re this AV Receiver.

Antiquated

teqteq on

Australia

Doesn’t work when I’m on a VPN. The only app that doesn’t.

Terrible

Wheels11 on

Australia

App can see the avr but won’t connect. Tried manual ip, tried reinstalling app. Nothing.

Defaults to Demo mode

Continues to default to demo mode? Reboot and reinstall sometimes will rectify. Now locked into demo mode and not connecting at all....?....

Bring it back!

scmgdnf on

Australia

So disappointed that this app now just fires up Musicast which is no where near as good for use as a straight AVR controller. I have no use for the multiple device features of Musicast and it is now too unreliable to me to persist with since version 5.0. Hopefully another developer will be able to make an alternative to AVR Controller.

Demo only

Bindi Bell on

Australia

This was a great app when I bought my rxd485 but it turned into demo only. Please let me know where the full app has gone.

Not working since recent update!!!

Jizza32 on

Australia

Was working fine until the latest update on 28th December 2021! Can connect to the amp via Apple Music but cannot use app to switch between zones or adjust volume or any settings. iPhone 12 Pro running 14.8.1 Please sort this out ASAP!

Should do more

THXcertified on

Australia

It’s a good, functional app, it would be great if it was possible to see the signal information being received by the unit.
