Berliner Philharmoniker Reviews

Fascinating Interviews and great concerts relays.

Lynn Listener. on

United Kingdom

It’s always a pleasure to choose an interview to watch and they always prove to be very informative and you can learn a lot! The concert relays are exciting and are well presented usually with excellent photography and good, clear sound. You could almost be in The Berlin Philharmonic Hall; I forget I’m watching and listening from miles away! Andrew Tyler, King’s Lynn, England.

Digital Concert Hall

This is first rate technically and also in terms of content. Being able to have a subscription and to access it from the UK was a major boost during the pandemic and since then, and has made me feel part of Europe despite Brexit. Many thanks for all the effort Berlin Phil technical staff and musicians have put into the Digital Concert Hall.

The app gives access to the video archive of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. It is easy to use and options are clearly laid out. The archive is large and full of treasures dating from the 1960s until the present day. Needless to say the quality of the music making is of the highest. The sound recording and the visuals are excellent too. You can listen to individual works, whole concerts or devise your own programme. There are accompanying programme notes and also interviews with performers and conductors. A first class production.

Excellent

I have used the app for several years. I live in the UK and the app has provided a seamless transition from my armchair to the concerts, both archived and live. Never a glitsch. Reliable. Intuitive. The whole concept is outstanding and I wish that my other favourite orchestra “The Scottish Chamber Orchestra” could emulate it.

Robert Schumann Symphony No.3, Marek Janowsky

Filbert Drongo on

United Kingdom

What a glorious exposition of this score by Schumann. The videography and sound production of Digital Concert Hall are superb, in many respects bettering what you can hear and see when you attend in person if not quite matching the special magic of being physically present. Performance of classical music has never been more important in these troubled times.
