The app is good if you don’t have DSTV, but unfortunately there is not much in the way of variety with the shows. If you can have The Graham Norton show on then surely you can have shows like Good Karma Hospital, Allo Allo and Strickly come Dancing. And the continue watching section used to pick up where you would leave off, but now it keeps going back to the beginning of a series, very frustrating 😡
This has to be the WORST streaming app out there. Price vs content is over the top and in terms of app build, it’s horrendous, my poor gran works every other like pro but this app is genuinely a -5/10. Pathetic, is being generous! Wouldnt recommend this service to my worst enemy!
I love Britbox and the programs. Great value for money. But recently no matter how many times I open or close or reinstall the app it just want s to continually open Chromecast. This means I cant just watch on my phone. All the settings for Chromecast on the phone are disabled but the app just persists in sending and failing. How do I fix this??
The Britbox content is good, but the app needs a rewrite. On IOS you cannot navigate the menu without touching and the app playing the video. It is difficult to navigate between episodes. Worst of all, it will not track usage across different devices, e.g. iPad and Google tv. Other comparable services do not have these issues in tracking or navigation.
….. the app is easy, very basic with limited features, and it still buffers sometimes. But it works and I don’t always need the best with the most features. What bothers me is the contents, it’s mainly well known and liked TV series in the UK. Mostly similar themes and some plots are very difficult to follow if you are not familiar with the many dialects. I used to watch iPlayer and found that to have more interesting shows and variety. The videography is better than any other streaming service I am familiar with, gorgeous landscapes with less video compression makes that a pleasure. The audio issue is not hardware or even software related, as documentaries are easy to understand. If there is little change in the coming months, then I will probably move back to another streaming service, mainly because of that.
Every time i leave the app, it loses my place in a series! I put up with this because i love the content
Initially streaming through airplay on my iPhone 11 was good, but for the last month or so it’s become very unstable and constantly drops for no reason. My Wi-Fi is great and all other streaming is problem free. I’m getting extremely frustrated to be paying for a service I can’t trust to work. I’ve even had my Wi-Fi checked and updated my AppleTV . It’s not me, it’s you!
I happily subscribed for a year at launch in South Africa but didn’t renew after that till now, glad to see the selection has gotten wider with more current shows coming up. For the iPad App I’d love to see a Picture in Picture mode, it would also be great to have a mac app too to allow for downloading for offline viewing.
When I watched a series it would start where I left off. My “Continue Watching” is where I was a few months ago. I’ve started making notes so that I don’t lose my place in the series I’m watching. Even the “Trailers” at the top of the page do not scroll anymore. Is there an iOS App update missing.
