I got a refund
Misleading and Deceiving App
This product will not fully work with any other ELM327 adapter other then a Carly adapter. Although the App allows you to connect via an ELM327 App, purchase a subscription, but at no point until after purchase of the subscription does it tell you that full functionality cannot be achieved with the Connected adapter and you are required to purchase a Carly Adapter. Carly will not refund the subscription despite failure to notify that the product will not work with installed adapter. This is misleading and deceptive and in violation of Australian Consumer Law. Shame on you Carly.
Hidden auto renewal in T&Cs
The app is basic. You’ll use it once or twice and never think of it again. Problem is they use subscriptions to unlock features and will lock you into another year unless you cancel a month before. Very predatory business model.
Does not support 996 986 Porsche
Does not support 996 986 Porsche as advertised, no support, no refund on system membership.
Lack of account management
NO way for you to maintain your account details. You can not cancel or change your subscription. You can not change your contact details. You need to jump through a lot of hoops to get anything done. there are a lot of free app that does exactly what this does. Do your home work before you buy. Scanner is average. If I knew the auto subscriptions will be $181 and it was easy to cancel, believe me I would have bought a $250 scanner that comes with software.
Carly scanner waste of money
I paid $150 for this scanner it doesn’t even do the basic stuff without paying a 1 year subscription of $200 aud a year .. If you don’t get a subscription you can see how many faults you have and can see or clear anything.. I can buy a $30 scanner on eBay that does a lot more and clear and check codes for free .. don’t buy this rubbish
