ChatSecure is a free and open source messaging app that features OTR and OMEMO encryption over XMPP. You can create new accounts on public XMPP servers, or even connect to your own server for extra security.
Unlike other apps that keep you stuck in their walled garden, ChatSecure is fully interoperable with other clients that support OTR, OMEMO and XMPP.
ChatSecure only uses well-known open source cryptographic libraries to keep your conversations private. Other apps may make claims about 'military grade' security but, without publicly auditable source code and verifiable end-to-end encryption, you cannot be truly safe.

The only problem is I got tens of notifications when ever people just sent me one message.

Stability issues....
Used to love this app, but now it constantly crashes, messages don’t show half of the time, and sometimes, I even get message notifications and I look and there isn’t even a message there becuase one wasn’t sent in the first place.... It often freezes up and I have to exit it all the time, and some of my messages don’t send either... please fix!!

Good application, very secure, fast and easy to learn.
No split screen support on iPad
Great app for secure messaging but huge bummer I can't lock it to the side on my iPad while I'm doing anything. From my understanding it's relatively small development resources to implement and I'd really appreciate it. Thanks crew!
