Bluetooth Audio is broken

Ooglieboy99 on

Do not play this with headphones - I’m playing this with AirPods Pro and the audio is unbearable. It stutters every 2 seconds making it painful to listen to - totally breaks immersion. Do not download until they fix this if you plan on playing with headphones.

Great on M4 but lacking Magic Keyboard trackpad support

Smasher5678 on

This is the first real game for my new iPad Pro 11 with the M4 chip and what an incredible game DOS2 is. I’ve had a couple of crashes where the game shutdown without warning (use the quick save to avoid losing progression) but on the whole the game runs great and looks absolutely stunning. Only down side is that the new magic keyboards trackpad is currently not supported so I hope this is fixed soon. Also, this game really drains battery life but that is to be expected given the amount of power required for a game like this.

Great to see this on iPad

edex67 on

Great to see a console RPG ported so well to iPad. Works very well on an M1 iPad Pro, no issues with overheating (although it does drain the battery). Save regularly though as there are a few bugs and other issues (which seem to be game issues, rather than port issues)

This sets bar for iPad games

I’m so pleased with this purchase, its well worth the money and time. The graphics are beautiful and the story line, voice acting and dialogue is rich and high quality. Combat is really hard and you learn to chose your battles carefully, but its really rewarding when you come back with better gear to beat enemies who wiped the floor with you before. Battles can easily last half an hour so this is not a casual experience. You have to explore the world, talk to everyone, read everything and try different strategies to move on. The controls are fantastic. Its touch screen with dedicated controls. If you plug in a game controller and reload the game, the UI and viewing angle switches to a console experience. If you connect a keyboard and mouse the UI switches to a PC experience. The developers have really thought about different playing styles. So i can play on the sofa like holding a book, plugged into the tv like consoles or at a desk with keyboard and mouse. This is how iPad game should be!

Good story line and 200 odd hours per campaign

koolade on

I liked the story, there are some really difficult bits to it, depending to which main pre-made character you choose at the start the story line will change, a bit more complicated than other d&d games due to character builds and equipment choices, also worth noting check out the guides online as to how you form the party as this also determines the story line and if they get along or hate each other. Use the pre-made characters as a run through rather than making your own as you’ll miss bits of the story. I really wish they ported the 1st game to the iPad as well for consistency and continuation.

Best game on the App Store by miles.

Canther on

This title is resource hungry but worth it. Faithful, detailed RPG that really tests the boundaries of the iPad. Expensive, yes, but totally worth it.

Doesn’t work

karlozfandango on

Installed onto iPad Pro 22 running iOS 16 and it crashes halfway during loading. Installed many times. Updated iOS….waste of money and a whole load of time…🙁 poor

Unbelievable plays as good as my PS4

CrumbyTweak on

I have a ps4 and switch but this is miles better then the switch version. Personally think it’s the definitive version with 3 control methods touch, controller and keyboard! Playing on my iPad 2018 12.9 inch pro and have had zero problems and not had heat issues like some have said!? This is a must get, the price is worth it. Edit; now playing on a 16gb m2 iPad Pro and there’s a further improvement on how smooth everything is. A must buy either way

Could be 5 Stars

Such a great game, nothing else like this on the market. One major problem on ipad (playing on latest ipad pro) constant crashes, really ruins the experience. Have got so frustrated requested a refund. Fix the issue and game is perfect, great depth, great graphics, story, gameplay etc. crashing is a pain. Fix the crash problem and you have a great game, had the same issue on switch a few years back.

Not overly impressed.

Bought this game on the recommendation of a friend who played it and loved it. However, after playing it for a coupe of hours, as well as watching it eat 60% of the battery reserve in less than 1 hour on an iPad Pro 12.9", I figured this game is probably not really ready for mobile. Before anyone asks, according to Apple this battery has 94% life left in it. Additionally, it's not entirely happy on iPad's that use Apple's Magic Keyboard, as the touch pad sometimes stops working and the only options available are to use the cursor keys. This happened for me when I used a key set up on the magic keyboard as an Escape key, instead of using the touch pad to press the ESC button in the dialog box. From then on in no cursor working with the touch pad. Only option was to quit and start again. Not a fan of the camera angles either as all too often your view gets blocked by the scenery. This requires the user to manually swivel the screen to see what your characters are up to, which when you're under attack kills the fun. Add to this the problems of this game being a massive battery hog, the confusing and cluttered UI and the clumsy controls I guess it's not for me. These are my personal opinions and as such you are at liberty to try it out for yourself.
