If you ride a bike, this app is for you. From pro WorldTour teams to casual riders, Epic Ride Weather helps cyclists to achieve their goals, get out more often, and have more fun on the bike.
* Pick just the right kit every time.
* Choose the best time of day to ride.
* Plan to maximize the tailwind, and avoid a headwind on the way home.
* Plan perfect hydration and nutrition.
Epic Ride Weather provides personalized weather forecasts that take into account your speed and location, combining multiple forecasts to give you a precise projection of weather for the duration of your ride.
How It Works
Epic Ride Weather connects with your favorite GPS app such as Strava, Ride With GPS, Garmin, Komoot and Plotaroute. You pick the route, set the start time and Epic Ride Weather provides a forecast for the whole ride.
A distinct forecast is provided for every 10 minutes of ride time, based on the location that you'll be at that time. With unmatched hyperlocal forecasting from DarkSky, you'll see how temperature, wind speed and direction, and probability of rain vary throughout the ride.
Pick the best time of day to ride based on your route and pace, with the best (or worst) conditions shown for start times throughout the day.
Strava Segments: Your favorite segments are shown alongside your activities and routes. Segments can be sorted by current weather conditions, showing those with the highest tailwind first based on the forecasted wind speed and yaw angle. Today could be your day to best your PR!
Professional cycling teams signed up to the VeloViewer WorldTour package can connect their Race Hub directly with Epic Ride Weather. State-of-the-art weather forecasting can be used to inform race day tactics and strategy for any upcoming stage, race, ITT, TTT or prologue from VeloViewer Race Hub.

excellent concept / weather data is poor
On sunny days this app is extremely useful to help one plan for long rides especially into the mountains to predict temp at elevation for picking how much cold weather gear to carry.
CAVEAT - it is absolutely abysmal at rain predictions. In Crans Montana Switzerland it was POURING rain for 4 hrs and the app estimated precipitation at 5%. In Bormio, rain estimates of 7% with weather network estimating 80% (and yes it poured… i got caught in it badly). In Ottawa (no significant elevation to perhaps explain the discrepancy) again 3% rain prediction vs weather network 70% and it did pour! Sorry can’t pay for that.
Great for ride and big runs
I live in the mountains and weather can change at elevation. This app allows me to be better prepared when I head out. I’ve now used it for road bike, alpine MTB, alpine running and backcountry skiing!
Fantastic App
I wouldn’t plan a big ride without using it! Always accurate and integrates well with Strava.
Fantastic reliability
I was dubious because there have not been enough ratings of this app yet. However it is a fantastic and reliable tool. Easy to use, communicates seamlessly with almost every ride app out there, and I have found it to be extremely accurate! My commute is over 20km and I go from inland near the base of a large hill to the coast. Now I know whether to take rain gear, winter gear, or both.
Friendly weather app for cyclists
Indispensable app for checking precipitation, wind speed, and wind direction before a ride, specifically for a given route and start time, with reasonable accuracy. A nice addition would be to show arrows for direction of travel on the loaded course.
Epic app for epic rides
Overall, a good app to help plan your rides.
Ms
Revolutionary. This will be a go-to app for planning rides and gear.
Great idea and a must have for anyone who rides
A well designed and easy to use app with a well designed help section to walk you thru on how to use and understand it's features.
A must have for anyone who rides and wants to make sure they are prepared and dressed for the weather or there.
Epic App
Great app! Works perfectly. Highly recommended for long rides.
Tool for Planning Ahead
Nice to be able to plan ahead for a ride. 100 free forecasts lets you get a good sense of what you will eventually be paying for. I Like how straight forward the app looks and works. Not compatible with my phone's ancient OS, but that's more my own fault for not staying up to date. Thanks, Dave!
