Espresso from The Economist

Great app with nice snippets of the days news. The Economist name remains a seal of quality

Although the publication maintains it's "well" hidden western bias on global matters, the daily nature of this section makes the news more factual, one step closer to reporting and away from opinionated analytics... add to the above the economist's witted writing style, as well as a real cup of coffee, and you get an efficient and pleasant kickstart to your day...

Good interface, good balance of news, just the right amount of brevity. Works for me.

Flawless app

If what you want is a snapshot of what's going on in the World before a meeting or getting into the office or for any reason at all. I find this app simply brilliant. It doesn't do too much but it does enough to brief me. If only I had this before other business development meetings, maybe I might have been issued the request for proposal! Superb, perhaps a little more customisation to allow me to focus on UAE or UK But this is a great Global view bravo.

I needed a slim news experience that avoids the hang wringing or triumphalism in a lot of news coverage. The espresso app scratches that itch!

The app has a setting to select text size but this slider does not appear to do anything.

Am now 25 minutes into trying to cancel my subscription. Ridiculous.

I have always loved the economist espresso, but it’s audio version is horrifically buggy. Whenever you open the app, it still plays the edition of an old (vs current) day and you need to shut down and re-open the app multiple times in order to get to the latest current version. Sometimes, even that doesn’t work - please fix!

Literally the product manager on this should be a case study on how not to design a product. If you quit the app early, you’ll lose the ability to go back
