Apple Watch Void

GymDadDave on

This app would be 5 stars with an Apple Watch app and access to Health app so I could use it alongside the music app so I didn’t need to carry a phone when I trained. It’d also be helpful if clients could access the desktop for tracking at home between workouts. I’ve actually found this app better than others but with the accessibility issues, it falls down.

Can’t cancel on dodgy trainers

SamA1357642 on

This app relies on trainers cancelling subscriptions. The only way I had to cancel my subscription after I finished my contract term was by cancelling my credit card. Be careful.

Good app - but needs Apple Watch app and some UI improvements

SRM80 on

My coach loves to this a few weeks ago. So far seems OK with a few shortcomings: - biggest one of all, no Apple Watch app. Sorry it’s 2023, I don’t want to be carrying my phone around the gym to keep track of rest periods, logging sets, etc. - entering a weight doesn’t automatically move to rest period. I stead have to click Dine the manually trigger rest - should be automatic or have the option to - next exercise in a set doesn’t populate the last weight; should populate the weight with last set, and can change or leave it by pressing enter - screen stays on - with new iOS features they should built a timer that shows on Lock Screen to save battery power. Good app - but clunky

I luv Steely Dan on

App is very good in general. Great for viewing workout videos and navigation is quite intuitive. - Videos don’t load or take ages sometimes. - entering data for workout specifics is time-consuming (if the first 2 sets were 5 reps of 15kgs, it follows that the rest probably were too and it could be automatic) - listening to Spotify or Apple Podcasts while having the app open is very frustrating. Stops the audio of aforementioned apps for some reason. In general I enjoy the app but close it when working out and open afterwards to input data

Nice and simple!

I love its simplicity. It just works. Some things I wish they could add though is the option to superset, and more importantly, having a calorie estimate and then syncing that bit of data with Apple Health as its useful when using with other calorie tracking app.

Might be good with a bit of work

So far I’m not blown away. Pros: the platform for communication with my coach and others in the program is good. Cons: Have 11 more weeks of coaching left but little things like having to re-select kgs for my weights every single exercise, because it defaults to zero pounds are quite annoying. It tends to have problems between portrait and landscape also and the only way I found is to force quit the app then restart. Luckily the workout still continues. With other, much more user friendly apps like train heroic out there, I’d love to see this app improve so that I don’t have to think hard whether I’d prefer to look for a coach that doesn’t use it.

Works well

DrDeütsch on

My coach moved away so this is how we train. App works ok but has a few quirks - workouts that are in sections ideally be able to exit out of section and see the rest of the workout without cancelling (sometimes racks are full and wait is too long mid way through that section of the workout) - not sure if it’s the app or apple but notifications fade music permanently sometimes - would be great to get a version you can use on your watch (Garmin) I hate using my phone in the gym

8/10

Good app

Can’t create own workouts

.dggx. on

Would be great to be able to create my own workouts from previous exercises I have done with my PT, so that they can track what I’m doing on my own time - instead of needing to write everything down in the notes section

Great app, 2 key improvements

Max63839 on

Great app - easy for tracking workouts, communicating with coach, tracking rest time, progression etc. Improvements: - Apple Watch compatibility - new iPhone photo/video compatibility - more “you lifted a hippo” type encouragement! 😂
