Barcode scanner doesn’t work
Second attempt at writing this. First detailed review refreshed and was gone, guess I was taking too long. The short version is if you think you are agreeing to a trial (you have 14 days to change your mind as stated in the terms and conditions, well surprise you don’t) I was immediately charge $80 and received a letter saying I could only cancel the renewal which is one year from now. I read the terms and conditions while activating the app because it wasn’t clear. They seemed to be purposely misleading. Why is this an acceptable practice in the Apple Store? If they reimburse me I will say so here. Until then know there is no trial regardless of what it says. Don’t fall for the scam.
I can’t no longer log my water intake, I must pay for that , I will not . I’m tired of this greediness
I understand having ads in your app. Developers need to get paid, there are maintenance costs etc. But the use of ads in this app is honestly oppressive. I need to interact with my fasting app MAYBE 2x a day—once to start the fast, and once to end it. And they make sure to fully exploit those 2 interactions and then some, with potentially MULTIPLE unskippable ads that require interaction and multiple taps to close out of to get back to what I was doing. “Congrats on finishing your fast! Your reward? A 60-second ad for a mobile game you’ll never play.” And that’s on top of spammy notifications badgering me about subscribing multiple times a day. These are in your face if you dare to open the app casually to check how much time is left. And I’m even seeing push notifications throughout the day despite having marketing notifications disabled. Absolutely ridiculous. I’ve only done 2 fasts with this app so far and I’m ready to bail.
I actually like this app but the notifications have been bugged for quite some time now. I will get notifications telling me to end my fast when I’ve already ended it. I emailed the support team about this and haven’t heard anything back.
The title says it all
I used Fastic for a while a couple of years ago. Even for the free version, I really enjoyed the app. However, downloading it again recently. My whole experience changed. I thought I turned off all of my notifications except maybe for 3-4 notifications per day. However, I was still getting upwards of a dozen notifications a day. On top of that. The notifications aren’t synced with when you actually start and stop your timer. I received notifications 2 hours AFTER I changed it in the app, asking me if I was still fasting. I miss when there weren’t a million notifications.
