Filen - Cloud Storage

Good app, but please incorporate the feature of if I delete a photo off my phone, it can also be deleted from the cloud (back sync). Please!

From 5 stars to 1... Since the latest update, the iOS app collects contact info. Sooo disappointing. This app is no longer private. It also introduced a bug with file names when sharing files from other apps into Filen.

I’m not able to view MOV. files over 3GB but under anything less than that i’m able too watch them. Every single time I tap on the file, it just directs me to the list of options instead of actually viewing the file itself. Other than that, the app is amazing and I would absolutely recommend it especially the fact that it’s 10GB for free.

I have the 2TB plan and so far out of testing many cloud solutions Filen has been the best for app and interface design on the website and reliability. The interface is clean and usable. Via the PC I synced 140GB of files and left the PC on for three days to upload via sync (note that my upload is very slow on my broadband and not to do with Filen cloud service), not once was there an error or connection loss across 13000 odd files, I notice on the app the recent page was updating instantly and pretty much all my files can be opened. I found this app to have a lot of options as well as the PC and web client. Overall very happy and found zero issues so far, where i always found sone on other cloud options and their apps.

- Add multi select to add files to a folder instead of individually dragging and dropping each file. - Add split screen view on iPad/iPhone

Updated app seems to work as expected. Update came a week after posting issues here. Bringing it up to 4 star from 1. Will keep testing as they keep fixing things. Mid April 2022 the below was true for a paid account: Whatever I tried the app only uploads 42 photos and then gets stuck in a rut and keeps trying. There are some error messages sometimes about getaddrinfo not found, but not always. I have: Signed out and back in Reset all transfers Trashed all photod cleared and retried Deleted some photos - as it gets stuck at 42nd of 300+ I thought deleting a phew will change ehich one gets stuck but no Signed in and out of iCloud Alternated mobile data and wifi or even both Removed screen lock Kept phone plugged overnight Restarted phone Out of ideas Running ios 15.4.1

Changed rating from 3 to 4 stars after a quick flurry of updates resolved issues with photo uploading in version 2. Although these issues should not have been there to start with, resolving them quickly is to the developer’s credit. Hopefully the rest of the new features will work well (I have not fully explored them yet). Thanks for taking the feedback into account. This means Filen can now probably fully replace OneDrive for my needs (open source and encryption major advantages of Filen)

I love this service and the app is great. What I needed is to have more control over sharing file folders (containing PDFs and MP3s) than you can get with Google Drive or iCloud. This service works great for that! My only complaint is that the app struggles to load MP3 files to view in the app. However, the website interface does this no problem. Once that starts working in the app consistently, then this app will be worth all of the 5 stars available to rate with.

Coming from Android to iOS the app is basically the same in functionality and the service is great. I’ve just been waiting forever now for an in app video viewer without needing to download like you can with photos and stuff.

I’d give it 1 star but my phone is broken. I can’t login cause I can’t reset my password. I try to reset and they won’t send me the link. If you get too many failed attempts, they delete your info. If you don’t login, they delete your info. It’s a terrible app. I am not saving passcodes for top secret nuclear launch codes, why is security doing its best to keep me out of my own account? Dial it back a notch. Also I don’t like the layout, it’s difficult to find photos or videos you uploaded.
