“#1-selling screenwriting software, Yeah, I’m not sure about that

max ewbank on

When I try and title the script, It cannot be used. It will never be fixed anytime soon, sadly.

Unusable with a keyboard and mouse

maffewww on

You’d think that a writing app was at the very least able to accept the input of a mouse to say, move the cursor to the start of a word so you can edit it - alas, no. I’m currently writing this with a keyboard, on my iPad, and can freely select where the cursor goes, so it’d clearly not an issue with the tech - it’s the software. I was hoping to keep my desktop, get rid of my laptop and potentially use this if i was unable to be at my desk, but the experience isn’t just bad, its basically unusable.

Rubbish

EthanOL89 on

Never once worked as intended, crashes, fails to launch etc etc. Cannot rely on this app in a professional on the go setting in its current form. Huge let down and issues never seem to be a priority to get fixed. Can’t see myself renewing this.

There’s basically no reason to get this app if you brought the old app

Jordan-boy17 on

Pretty much anything I can do in this app I could do on the original and that only costed £5.

Frustratingly bad

chazjbd on

It surely wouldn’t take a lot of effort to tackle the constant bugs ruining this app experience. And the cheek to charge a subscription fee too… If you need somewhere to write on your phone/ipad, just do it on Notes, it’ll be easier to copy and paste than from this mess anyway…

Worst App Ever!

Markssmith78 on

Just purchased this and I’m regretting it already. The whole app is really buggy. You cannot cut & paste properly or scroll through the pages. It’s basic which I don’t have a problem with, in fact that’s all I was looking for, but they cannot even get an app with basic functionality right. What a waste of money.

What happened

Minkyavril on

This version of the app is a disaster. I am about to miss a deadline, and am frustrated beyond words. Fix this, please!

Extremely lacking

Antantantmcr on

Very much a barebones app. Essentially a plain text editor with formatting buttons that saves files in fountain. A bit harsh, maybe. But there is no beat board, no writing goals, no navigator… and from what I hear, no support. The app can go months without an update. That is fine when things have matured and fixes aren’t needed. But it seems features aren’t needed either. I’m giving it 2 stars because I’m able to edit final draft files on the go. But that’s about it.

Random unexplicable bugs

Yeahyeahwouhouuu1000 on

I thought it would be brilliant to have this app on my ipad on the go. But NOT a good idea. Every update causes new troubles. Now the whole document goes crazy when I reach page 43… Like I can not even access anything as it starts to flash and freeze… I tried everything and went on reddit, it’s not even a common bug… Very frustrating for such a basic app in principle that is industry standard…. I can make 3d models on my Ipad, make music, draw, but I can not write a simple text with this app…

Does not work well.

IsleofMills on

The App appears to be pretty useless for day to day use. From placing cursor to copying chunks to text, all lead to a flickering/flashing blue selection and the App freezes. Final Draft need to update this App so it actually works so writers can actually use it, or just remove it so we stop wasting our money on something that clearly does not work as a writing tool.
