The lack of support in the app for the Twist is disappointing and frustrating. Especially since Flic has had at least 2 years to build out the software in parallel with the hardware. At least allow for more than 4 points in the Advanced Dimming mode.. This would greatly help actually using the Twist as intended!
There’s less than 5 brands it works with out of hundreds.
Everyone’s experience is different so I can only relate mine. My Flic hub and buttons were so simple to set up, and have worked flawlessly for a good while. I use them to manage Hue / HomeKit lighting in various places in the house. If anything its simple unfailing operation means I tend to forget it’s there! If there’s a downside it’s that Hue accessories are getting cheaper, so the Flic buttons are being used less.
Brilliant little buttons that help me automate many different tasks. Button next to my bed to turn all the lights off. Button to change volume on the TV. Button downstairs to turn on the stereo upstairs. I also use a Flic original button as a ‘clicker’ for Keynote presentations at work. Can do a wide range of different things. Very powerful tool. Also very small & sleek buttons.
It’s happened. HomeKit is here and it works. However Apple for some reason does not allow you toggle devices so you’d have to workaround it which is unfortunate but isn’t Flic’s fault. End of the day; Flic delivered.
From the numerous interactions I’ve had with Shortcut labs they seem like such nice, well meaning, folks. But ultimately that can’t excuse the fact the hub is basically crap. It regularly loses network connectivity with absolutely no explanation so Philips Hue lights don’t work. There’s no way to debug why this happens either (Shortcut simply haven’t been able to help). I think the hub was a stretch too far for a young and inexperienced team, and they’re simply unable to resolve problems that are way beyond their knowledge and skills. I’d really love for the hub to be a working, great, idea but it isn’t. It’s rubbish.
Initially had a few problems syncing with my iPad to change songs and pages in the song lyrics app Setlists but all working beautifully now 🤩👍🏻

If you use Wemo avoid Flic. Absolutely loved the idea. Invested in Flic buttons a year ago. All ok until it wasn't. Promised month after month they would fix Wemo and never did. Meanwhile Logitech pop buttons manage it flawlessly so I've now moved to those. Flic support on the matter has had plenty of chances from plenty of people but when the product is not fit for purpose for almost a year its time to call it what it is. Their priorities are in other areas for now and if you use Wemo you can't use Flic. At the very least they should stop promoting that they integrate with Wemo. If they don't fix it or remove the statement by the new year I'll be filing a complaint with trading standards to protect other people.
I’ve been using the buttons for a while and they work quite well (if you are happy having the app open on your phone all the time and not minding spending the rest of your life at home). Then the hub was announced and you can only immagine my joy! I backed it on Indiegogo and it was finally delivered. I couldn’t wait to have my home automation all nice and setted up on the hub. Quick parentesys, most (like 90%) of my HA is based on Trådfri. I open the app, setup the hub, try to pair with the gateway. No joy. Perhaps it’s because is already paired with the phone. Unpair from the phone and retry. No joy. What if it’s the gateway? Pair the gateway with the phone. Everything supersmooth. Even the buttons work as expected. Try pairing again, still no joy. Thr big reason why I purchased the HUB was to be able to control my light. It doesn’t make much more sense for me if it doesn’t work. Can we have it fixed? Pretty please? Thanks and ciao!
