I don't mind a little advertising now and then, but what has now come to the app is ads everywhere. That's a little much for me
I am using it to read all news. It does fantastic job filtering what i like and add became less (!!) evasive over the time. The only point has been data consumption, i switched to use it on wifi only like a year ago as the app used to update 10 articles with like 300MB of data…
Even after updating password still not possible to delete the account from the iOS app.
After iOS 15.2 update constantly crashes randomly. Unusable.
Still crashes all the time. Have followed all advice given by devs - uninstalling and reinstalling, turning off video autoplay, clearing cache, logging out and in. Nothing helps - flipping through news suddenly gets slow, freezes and then app crashes.
Swapping was not working and suddenly it worked which I'm glad. Overall, it's my way to receive news and couldn't do without it.
The old little Flipboard seems to be a great newsfeed flipper over the time; one star down just for the new iPhone & the actual iOS with it’s highly degenerated screen resolution.
The whole idea or the base patent of Flip board is, that we can Flip it like a chart or a page , but the new version is going to be a disaster if there is no option to Flip, than it’s just like any other news app which are available in 100s .
Flipboard is a clever app that drops the ball on each and every detail. The app feels very much like a website instead of an app: UI elements get cut off by other elements or fall off the screen, transitions don’t always work properly, and the UI often freezes up. It just doesn’t feel comfortable or consistent. The sign up experience is also a mess. I installed the app afresh on a new phone, added a bunch of new interests, and then logged in - the new interests were obliterated. The interests also aren’t granular enough. I have interests in things like TV and Filmmaking and constantly get gossip column headlines about off-screen romances. When I attempt to get less of that my only options are to hear leas about film, or the oscars, or Linardo DiCaprio. Those aren’t the problem... The UI of the app also isn’t terribly intuitive. The first time I tried to add new interests after starting to use the app the only way I could figure out to do so was to create a new Magazine. What is a magazine? A cluster of interests that are grouped together and accessible from the UI. How do I know this? Blindly trying and failing to use it properly. Flipboard should be a far stronger app than Google News as it has my constant and direct user feedback and yet it struggles to keep up. It’s been over a year and none of these issues have been addressed. Flipboard should be a great app. Instead it just kind of does the job almost as well as the competition.
Great channel for information
