This app is an atrocity
After experiencing Tesla connectivity and seamless app experience, this makes the Genesis situation look that much worse. GM had a better app in 2016. What the heck are you guys doing? Nothing works. I got this car 2 days ago and the car is great but this app is absolutely abysmal.
Terrible - bring back the old app
This is why you don’t let car manufacturers develop apps. This clearly wasn’t done by any respectable app development shop. Most times it cannot complete tasks and hardly ever is able to locate my vehicle. Brutal!
App rarely ever works
This app is terrible. Defeats the point of having the app when it rarely ever works.
80% broken
The only way to get it to update and tell you the remaining battery % is to force close the app. The remote phot feature has never worked. Climate start works sometimes. Vehicle status doesn’t work. My previous car had a long distance remote (I could start my car from a few hundred feet away, and the remote would inform me with a flashing red or green light whether it was in range). I thought this app would replace that. Nope. Just a big disappointment that takes a lot away from the luxury of the $85k vehicle it’s attached to.
Iffy connectivity
May/24: Another update & just as ridiculous as the last. Instead of slowly improving, this one gets worse.
April/24: An absolute waste of time this update, it no longer connects to the car, it was somewhat intermittent before but now there’s no connection whatsoever. Aug/22: The app has some good features but has been sending/showing me error messages that the vehicle itself doesn’t show. There is a fair amount of lag & most of the time it’s easier to close the app & reopen to get up to date info, a bit silly really. There is really good potential & a bit of communication lag would be acceptable for me, if it was more functionally accurate.
Service Oriented???
If 0 stars was an option I’d give this app zero.
As I write, I’m standing by my vehicle and the app is telling me it’s unavailable.
The call number is hopeless. Perhaps their personnel are fine. I don’t know. I’ve never spoken to anyone because they’re alway experiencing exceptionally heavy call volume.
Hyundai Canada, I hope you’re monitoring these reviews because you’ve got a very serious problem to sort out.
Local service folks have been focussed on service. I wonder if you even know what service and customer satisfaction are.

For the level of the car and the technology it’s ridiculous that the app is so useless!

User profile not sent successfully???
Everything works until the latest update. Now it keeps saying my user profile was not sent successfully and asked me to turn on the vehicle’s ignition to start the user profile… which I’m already “fingerprint verified”. Come on Genesis!!!
