Genius: Song Lyrics Finder

The notifications are laggy, the ability to edit is awful, much of the browser functionality isn’t available on the app, some of the notifications have to open in the browser because they’re not available in the app… it feels like we’re stuck on a v1.0 that has never been updated. The search functionality could be optimised too (unless you’ve got the exact spelling in the right order, the search won’t work).

The app is great, no problems, besides the creation of lyric cards. I’m able to select the lyrics I want to use but when I try to press “Next” nothing happens. I’m forced to take a screenshot and crop but I’m sure I don’t need to do that every time

Came across this using another music app that gets it lyrics using genius so thought I’d try it. It can pick up a tune and display the lyrics in an outdated way that’s not to pleasing on the eye but it works All other features have you going round in circles wasting time and battery - plug in if your gonna try. Unable to save song to Apple Music please try later Create cards or whatever with quotes from lyrics is also broke,you paste in your quote and pick the album art box or swipe left for your own photos but both won’t work at all,hit next nothing happens. No quote is saved everything remains it’s clearly not working as intended. Had to sign up for this and give permissions for what? Big waste of time,Shazam does it all and does it with style. It also automatically adds to my Apple Music without any issues. SoundHound works better pfft…🙄

PLEASE fix this god-awful search engine

The app is ok but the adverts drive me crazy with no way of getting rid of them.

Had to delete app and reinstall. Come on!

This app is humiliatingly broken. ‘See all albums’ doesn’t show you the most iconic releases by a band, but is more than happy to stuff the same song remixed into your face twelve times. Way more attention has been placed into making it look glossy than actually run- for a lyric site to lag this hard is beyond unacceptable. These are years-long issues you just haven’t been bothered to fix, and it’s pathetic.

My friend recommended to me the other day as she found that all the literature works we were studying were on it and annotated. It’s been very useful.

I noticed my iphone 12 pro was struggling with battery life recently. I normally had to charge my phone once at night but i was charging it multiple times recently and my phone usage is well below average so I checked my battery health to see if there were any problems. In the past 10 days Genius app has 93hours background with 3m on screen. If you’re the average user that is an INSANE statistic because no other app has this much background in 10 days even if you’re glued to your phone. Save your phone and delete the app till they fix this issue.

what’s the point of signing in if I can’t add lyric annotations or even change my profile picture? There need to be more rigorous standards as to what ramshackle insults corporations can pass off as ‘apps.’
