Overall, GoCoEditor is a pretty good mobile IDE; not only is it easy to use, but it: is very responsive; is quite reliable; is well maintained by its developer(s); and, most importantly, provides an increasingly abundant list of useful features and capabilities. However, a feature that has yet to make it on that list is the capability for GoCoEditor to compile/preview other filetypes, in addition to its pre-existing capability to preview Markdown and HTML files; if GoCoEditor were to provide this, I can say for certain that it would become ⁓Ꚍℎℰ⁓ ultimate mobile IDE and, as a result, would warrant a rating, in my opinion, of 5-stars. Looking for an app that can run PHP files in a server-like environment? Search in the App Store for "DraftCode"...you won't be disappointed.
Rarely leave reviews but have to comment this amazing app. Have it on my iPad Pro and iPhone and love it. Amazing code editor with great syntax highlighting. Connects to my SSH server at my host and lets me edit files directly (uploading them after edits). Built in SSH terminal lets me do quick operations like renaming folders and compressing files easily. The preview mode (with a URL in the connection setup) then opens an internal browser which displays the page. Multiple files and tabs open at once. It’s really everything I want to edit web scripts and code. Would change very little. Only thing I wish is that you can leave the preview or shell window open in a corner or half of the screen so you can make minor changes with the output side-by-side. By far my top-5 iPad apps.
So far so good. Wish I could edit the top toolbar. I like using the arrows more than the circle but they become hidden in portrait mode. Works great on my iPad too. Actually the only issue I have had is with the mini shell. It’s very buggy and looks really weird. I’ll reach out to the devs though I’m sure it’s just a bug. I wouldn’t rely on this for SSH though. Compared to other Shell apps or Code Editors with built in shells this one is definitely a mini shell.
Highly satisfied. Worth 10$. Works greatly, really easy to use and offers lot of functionality.
Great app use it a lot and I'm in computer science finally they implemented google drive support and the fact that you guys keep updating this makes me happy that I spend a couple of dollars on this. Great purchase.
Fixed my bug issue after update :) this is a must have code editor :)
Looks like a decent app. I have only just got it but the crashed on me once so far. If there could be an option to open files in my Dropbox folder I would truly love this app. I use Dropbox for code storage and this app currently only supports FTP and SFTP.
If you’re an old-school text editing coder, this app is a great bridge between touch screen and raw text editing. It will also integrate with several cloud storage solutions, so you can use any storage you already use. The only problem is: it doesn’t remember your preferences across updates (like every other app on the planet does). A simple, but important detail that is the reason I can’t give it a 5/5. My workaround: I have a note in the Notes app where I keep track of whatever settings I change in this app. Otherwise it would be like reinventing the wheel every time this app (or the OS) updates. But this shouldn’t be necessary. The app should remember settings across updates. It seems like it should also be able to remember your last position in a file, and take you there instead of the top of the file every time you re-open a file. A setting for “top, bottom, previous” location on open would be nice. My other (less important) feature request would be that if you’re using an external keyboard, being able to set VI or Emacs key bindings would be a bit awesome. (I’m an old vi / vim user)
This is so useful. Stop working with Google Drive recently though. Is there someway around this?
