Good budget review

After using the app for the past month, Overall i find it easy to use but not very useful. My app was simple and had no ads but it only offers american store names making its functionality decrease significantly. Although store names were limited, I could easily create categories, add funds, and access clear graphs which were easy to read. All in all, i believe that this app is a beginner friendly app which is fairly useful for keeping track of your spending. Despite the apps user friendly nature, There is a significant drawback to the app that impacts its reliability. This app doesn't link with any sort of bank account or e-wallet that would help keep track of transactions that were digital making it less versatile. This drawback not only complicates adding transactions, but it will attract less of a global audience. Despite its best efforts, there are some things that this app doesn't feature. I think it would be a great addition to the app if it allowed the user to set customizable spending goal into different categories. This would help users track their expenses more effectively and stay within their desired budget. Additionally, i think it would be great if they could enable notifications of the users spendings daily/weekly to encourage healthy spending habits.

Overall a good app but difficult to use

I used this app for a few weeks as my school assignment was to use a finance app. I really enjoyed using it for many reasons. First, it is an ad-free app, which I appreciate since many other apps contain annoying ads. Second, it is easy to see where you spent your money the most or the least. It even provides a clear bar chart and line graph of your spending, income, and budget. Finally, you can create your own envelopes if you want to. Considering that you have to pay to make your own categories in other apps, this feature is great. However, there were some things that it did not do well. When I used the app on my iPad, it was complicated to use. I learned how to make envelopes and how to record my spending by myself because the app did not teach me. On the other hand, when I used it on my Macbook, a tutorial was provided for first-time users. I hope the tutorial is available on other devices as well. Overall, I have two suggestions to make this app better. It would be awesome if linking to bank accounts, credit cards, and e-wallets was available. In this way, recording transactions one by one would be unnecessary, making the app more convenient to use. In addition, a tutorial is a must-have because first-time users might find it difficult to use.

Good budget app review

For the past few weeks, I’ve been relying on Goodbudget to manage my personal finances, and I need to say that it's been a game-changer. For people who're just getting started with budgeting apps, it's an app that I would recommend people use. Everything is so simple and straightforward, especially when it comes to keeping track of transactions and managing my budget. Even though the app has some great features, there are a few downsides to consider. One big issue is that it lacks certain functions, like linking with e-wallets or bank accounts. Plus, when it comes to managing transactions, we can’t add photos or anything like that. And, when I just downloaded the app, there were no instructions to help me figure out how to use the apps. I had to learn how to use the app by myself, which was kind of tricky. Also, the theme of the apps was very boring because there was only one color. The apps are pretty good, but there are some things missing that would make them even better. I wish this app would be able to link transactions with our e-wallets and bank accounts, because that would make it so much easier and more convenient. I think this app should give us instructions on how to use the apps when we just downloaded them. Also, I think being able to let us add photos for our transactions and stuff will make it easier, and I wish that they don't only have one color like green; I wish they would make the apps look more aesthetically pleasing.

App glitch: Spending by envelope report

The app doesn’t work when I try to look at the Spending By Envelope report for previous months. In fact none of the buttons work when I press it, as long as I enter the view for the report. As soon as I enter, I can’t exit the view nor does the calendar button work. I can only refresh to exit, but I encounter the same problem even after refreshing.

My Goodbudget App Review

I have used Goodbudget for about a month and have seen many positive and negative points about the app. One of the positive things about the app that I like is that it is easy to navigate and it is well organised. It was a simple and clean app where you could see everything clearly; there weren't a bunch of buttons leading to different things and places. It was also a free app, so there was no need to worry about spending money on anything. I have also seen many other features of the app that I haven’t been able to explore, which I believe were helpful when using the app. While my experience with the app hasn’t been too bad, excluding its numerous advantageous features, I noticed some downsides One of these cons includes the app's colours and designs being very simple and plain. It was also frustrating for me when the app required envelopes to have a budget period when sometimes there’s a possibility people don’t need them. Additionally, when I first downloaded the app, it was tough for me to start using it since I had to sign into the website first before signing into the app. Based on the cons I have stated above, one of the changes I would like to make to the app is to make it more aesthetically pleasing. You could do this by changing the design, colours, or layout. I believe the app having more of an appealing look can engage the customers better. Another change I would suggest is, adding a tutorial page to help new users navigate and use the app easier.

I used GoodBudget throughout our finances unit to track my expenses and income. Overall, it is my go-to app for tracking my finances. It has several features that I like. Firstly, it is accessible, as there are a lot of features, such as envelopes, pie charts, and more. Secondly, you can choose what type of transaction(s) you want. It is also easy to navigate, as the features are seen easily. Thirdly, it is complimentary to use, since there are no premium features. Despite the beneficial features of this app, there are some elements that I disliked. Firstly, the design is straight-up green, white and black, which is plain for an app. Secondly, the old 'envelope' method was limited to a certain amount of envelopes which eventually limited the number of transactions that are recorded. Thirdly, you would have to go to the website to sign in, which is a time-consuming approach. I suggest this app improves on a few things. Firstly, the theme can be changed to something creative and original, such as a black-or-white theme. Secondly, the app can add new features (tutorial page, bank account page).

Positive, negative and things this app could improve on.

I have used this app for a Life Skills Project, it was to keep track of our expenses and savings and anything we did with our money. During the 2 months, I would say it's quite easy to use and there are many features to it, for example, bar graphs, pie charts, transactions, envelopes etc. In order to create envelopes and make transactions, you will need to create a household. Creating one, it will let you have access to a lot of features. By making envelopes, you can store your money for food, savings etc. To make transactions, you can click on the plus sign and it will create a transaction, you can also choose the date and time, who you gave the money to and who you received the money from etc. Unfortunately, for first-time users, it's not really a user-friendly app. It's really confusing at first, with all the random buttons and different features that could make it seem confusing. The fonts are quite small and really boring. The colours of white and green makes it seem very plain and bland. The first thing I would suggest is to improve on the colours, maybe add more colours rather than just green and white, to make it more lively and aesthetic. Second, make the instructions more clear, so it's easier for newcomers/first time users to know how to work this app, rather than them figuring it out on their own, cause it would be frustrating and stressful.

Good beginner budgeting app.

Throughout the course of 2 months, I have been using the GoodBudget app to track my expenses and income. I would say that overall, this is a good app to track your spending/income. You would have to create an account to start, which is convenient if you want to switch devices as you won't lose your progress. It is well organised as it provides envelopes (categories) that are customisable, pie charts to display the different categories of spending and bar graphs to monitor your spending vs income. You are able to set a budget for each category, which allows the app to inform you when you have overspent. I believe that you are also able to track your debt on this app, however, I have yet to try this feature. My favourite part of this app is that you are able to schedule your income. The app automatically adds the amount set to your envelopes whether it is weekly, monthly or yearly. Aside from all of the positive points about the app, there are some downsides to it. The app limits you to 2 devices per household, meaning that once you have signed into your account on 2 devices, you would have to revoke one to gain access to it on a different device. The colour scheme on the app is also pretty plain, however, that is not much of an issue. You also aren't able to sync your credit card to the app, which is something that would make budgeting much more convenient. Another problem I have with the app is that if you don't set a budget for each envelope, it would immediately put you into debt. Adding income into a specific category can also be troublesome sometimes. Considering all of the cons, I would suggest that there should be a way to sync your credit card with the app. I'd also like to change the fact that the app automatically puts you into debt if you have not set a budget for each category. Other than that, I would say it's a pretty good beginner app to be using.

From this app I found out there is more pros than cons. I'm going to talk about the pros about this app first. The pros are that once you learn how to use this budget app, it's very easy to use as because it's simple and organised. You can change dates and the amount of money at anything if you set incorrectly. They do have a pie chart to show how much you spend over all in each transaction. The transaction is easy and simple to set up once you learn how to use the app. This budget app is pretty straight forward and you also can choose and type what kind of transaction you want weather is an income or payment. You can even choose who is the payer or the receiver. This app will also tell you if you ever over spend on your own budget. You can set a specific amount of budget you want to use and is you overspend that budget, the system will inform you and will recommend to stop spending for how many days. Even there is so many pros in this good budget app, there are still a few cons too. After downloading this app it will take you sometime to learn how to use this budget app. There is a few pay walls in this app for example the pie chart, if you wanted more information and detail on the whole amount you spend, you will have to pay for it, and some other features too. The other cons is that the theme is too dark that is too boring and kinda hard to figure out which is which sometimes. There is not much rating to this app and the reviews are from 7 years ago. And long before, this app have crashes before, but thankfully, the founder fixed it. The changes that need to be make is probably making the app more detail and add some colors to make it more detail and organized. If possible, make the pie chart details free and maybe change the pie chart design a little bit. And also, the theme is too dark, change it to a changeable theme would be better like white and black theme.
