Description

Grafio turns 10. It's been around for a decade already - polished, efficient and with more features than ever before.

Grafio is not a tool for professionals only. Its smooth learning curve allows everyone to convey their ideas visually and with ease. Hundreds of thousands use Grafio worldwide, due to its simplicity and affordability.

There are no ongoing subscription costs or upgrade charges. Once you purchase it, you have access to an ongoing number of libraries (shapes and symbols) and a multitude of new features with every update.

Since Grafio was released 10 years ago, there have been 3 major upgrades, including dozens of new object libraries and a fresh new look to the layout.

To begin, simply draw a rectangle, circle or an ellipse and see what makes drawing with Grafio so easy and fun.  Grafio can recognize and replace any of the shapes mentioned with a perfectly looking one for your diagram or schematic, ready to be used over and over.

Drag and drop objects on the canvas for more complex diagrams. Make connections, add text labels and images.

SHAPE RECOGNITION
The shapes you draw are automatically closed and straightened, all basic shapes are instantly recognized. The lines you draw between shapes are automatically turned into connections thanks to our shape recognition magic.

STENCILS
Some diagrams require more advanced objects. Grafio provides thousands of shapes that you can easily drag in from the library. In addition, you can embed images from your Camera Roll into shapes and connect them to your other shapes.

AUDIO RECORDINGS
Recording audio notes to your shapes can be a way for you to collect your thoughts and include them in the finishing product, or as a reference.

It used to be the best app in my iPad...

jorgefdt on

It used to be the best app in my iPad and iPhone. I used it to create hundreds of drawings in the most diverse topics. However, in the past few years it became almost unusable: clunky, buggy, slow, not that user friendly, and the list continues. I’m very disappointed because I used to love it so much.

Frustrating, Should Be Much Cheaper Until It Matures

Dvorak Dan on

Really, what the title says. The potential is there, but there is no startling or clever interface or interaction model here: it’s just a very basic implementation of a flowchart app. But that said, it feels rough, clunky, and doesn’t end up producing better than adequate results. Really, the only thing that makes this what it is, and not the world’s worst vector drawing app, is the connector lines. Without that feature, you’d never use any app like this. Affinity Designer would be far better. So you’d expect that to shine. But no – connector lines are frustratingly hard to reliably connect. Once connected, the controls to change the type of connector are OK, but often don’t work as expected. Repositioning of lines is either difficult, as when connecting between two objects, or impossible, as when moving a line connected to one box to a different box. Connection points start off on boxes in designated locations, but there’s no visible targeting, partly because control handles are unnecessarily large. Suggestion: when I start drawing a connector line, SHOW me that it’s connected, by rubber banding it from the start point. Labels added to the lines can’t – as far as I can tell – be moved around along the lines. And if there is a way to rotate to be either perpendicular or inline, I haven’t found it. That raises the next issue: controls have been built without much consistency, and without much reference to standard iPad UI approaches. A proper Inspector panel would do a better job than most of them, and the ones in the app aren’t fun to use. What I got is what I expect from a free software package. A very basic free package. The author is smart to go after a sector without much competition, compared to other common classes of software. But that seems to have left him free to deliver a tool that just doesn’t match the price (which I regret paying now). $2 would not have bothered me, maybe up to $5. But as it is, this is an amateur app with a pro price. Where the author isn’t so smart is establishing a market price for a competitor to come in below, with a better product. Grafio is not a product I expect to be around in 2 years, to be blunt.

More clunky than I expected

yeyitou on

I watched all the videos about Grafio beforehand, so I was really excited to try it, but after buying it, I was disappointed in how clunky it was. I thought I could just draw some boxes and arrows really quickly like in the videos, but that’s not the case. You have to be very precise with what you draw. I kept ending up with rotated rectangles or parallelograms, so then I would need to erase them and start again. I thought I could use the shape library instead to quickly drop some boxes in, but you have to hold your finger on the icon before dragging a shape into the diagram. It’s just too slow and clunky. Even something that should be straightforward like the grid functionality doesn’t really work right. It seems to only work when moving objects and only for the center of shapes. So it’s not possible to get boxes to be the same size or to get their edges aligned using the grid. The text stuff also sometimes get confused, so you can be editing the text for one shape while another shape is selected. The app is just not managing text focus correctly. Also, the app gets really sluggish if you try to create a gigantic diagram and won’t export it correctly. Even though I’ve purchased the app, I don’t think I’ll actually use it for anything. I’ll have to purchase a different app for my diagramming needs. Perhaps I’ll try it again when version 5 comes out.

Great app and Prompt Excellent Response/Support to Questions

Vince (from Canada) on

Grafio is a great app that I recently purchased for use on my iPad Pro 12.9 inch (2019) with the Apple Pencil 2. I am a long time user of Microsoft Visio and Grafio complements it very well. As with any new app there is a learning curve where new users encounter issues not usually with the software, but by their lack of use of the new app. Once I informed Grafio of my issues they promptly responded with detailed instructions that resolved my concerns all due to my knowledge shortfall). I’m super impressed by such support compared to so many other apps where response to customer questions is severely lacking. Highly recommended app. I also purchased Vidra bundled with Grafio, but I haven’t used it yet. - VM (Canada)

Undo inoperative, Application totally frozen All work lost

jaymsdd on

Connecters do not work. The undo button is inoperative. The Multi square button at the top left erased three hours of work. The app has frozen. The app will not open even its own files.

Great potential but far too many bugs

Turtle_free on

The application seems good at first but then you discover a lot of bugs. Undo/Redo is completely broken. When it is available it does not do what you expect. Apple Pencil does not work as expected. Even when connected I can still draw with my fingers. Please refer to other main drawing apps for a proper behaviour. Handwriting does not work for shapes. The is no option for turning on or off this feature. So I don’t know how to proceed. Overall it is quite slow compare to other drawing apps. I have an iPad mini 5 which is quite powerful and 5 shapes it is slow when zooming in or out. Please consider fixing these problems ASAP because there are quite annoying and I am wondering if I will ask for a refund. I still give 3 stars because I hope these bugs will be fixed.

Sooo many bugs

jambon jo jo on

Undo always stops working. When exporting to png the button dissapear. Laggy. Creating icons often does not work then they all stack on next open. Jeez....

Text rotates with shapes doesn't work

mutounee on

Can't rotate text by change shape's rate. It may caused by after a text was created, app recognized it as a shape not a text. I can show you some video if you need. Ps I am a SDE too:)

Not great

Jay56754 on

- Moving icons takes several attempts to ‘grab’ them - Unpredictable responsiveness to some finger gestures like pinch to zoom etc.. - Poor integration with Apple Pencil - Overall too buggy to reliably use

Pricing structure.

Sandro Noel on

A ton of features with a great price structure!! I love it!
