Great app with excellent recipes. Easy to use. Save feature for your favourites is a plus. The start cooking feature that stops your device from going to sleep is an excellent idea. I had a gripe in a previous review that I couldn’t then see the ingredients but a developer contacted me directly via email and explained the button on the bottom left of the screen that I hadn’t noticed brings the list up.
Great recipes, great app AND great customer service.
Paid for app … not free
It said there were in app ads when i decided to get this app …fine i thought. But as soon as I opened it it said it was a 14 day trial. I felt conned Sso I removed the app without using it.
How much is it?
Didn’t get to try as had to sign up for a 14 day free trial without any info of what the subscription cost will be after the end of free trial! HOW MUCH IS IT?
Pity
Such a great range of recipes, especially if you are vegan or vegetarian. I’ve discovered so many new dishes, and really expanded my menu. The biggest drawback is that it doesn’t properly search by ingredient, a major flaw on a recipe app. If they could fix that, it would be even better.
Search function does not work - false advertising on social media
The social media ad I saw on Instagram claims you could type in a list of ingredients and the app would deliver up recipes containing these ingredients.
The search function does not do this. I tried searching for basic single ingredients like ‘aubergine’ or ‘chicken’ and nothing comes up. Yet when I scroll through there are lots of recipes that use these ingredients. Frustrating UX, I subscribed and unsubscribed within 5 minutes.
Check your recipies!!
Who writes this stuff: “12g large shell-on prawns peeled, deveined and shells reserved – you should end up with about 150g prawn shells and 130g prawns” - how does one get 150g prawn shells and 130g prawns out of 12g shell-on prawns.
The recipes so far have been either full of mistakes or boring. Have already cancelled my subscription
Good but could be improved
Very helpful app but could be improved by features which allow me to search my saved and cooked recipes to reduce need to scroll until I find what I’m looking for. You should also be able to search for recipes using multiple filters rather than only one. Would also be helpful to be able to sort my saved recipes into folders.
Good idea with great content and now improved, faster user experience
This app is getting much better in terms of loading speed and user experience. It used to be very slow and now its build does justice to the great content. Some utterly brilliant recipes from some of the best food writers in the UK.
Doesnt work - If I can’t search by ingredient, this app is useless to me.
I’ve subscribed to this app twice - so they got my money twice. The search function doesn’t work, which is a problem for a recipe app. iPhone 15 pro max, so my phone is no slouch. Tried switching off and then on, uninstalling/reinstalling etc. no joy. If I can’t search by ingredient, this app is useless to me.
Some good stuff…
Some great recipes on the app, and stuff to make you think and try something new. However, it’s massively laggy and slow to respond, frustrating when you’re juggling a few things at once. Give it a kick and speed it up please Grauniad..
