Best of the bunch but not perfect by any means

I’ve tried Yousician (too game-ified and annoying scrolling), Justin (lovely guy but not enough content) and Uberchord (buggy). GT is a more serious and properly musical approach. Can’t believe, though, that there are no finger placements (especially if you’re doing the classical option or compositions). The range of songs is also definitely skewed towards electric.

App stops working

Considering the high price of membership the app keeps crashing and is very disappointing. This should not be happening and it works perfectly when you sign into your account via the website.

Good but Flawed

Content is excellent. The Blues lessons are great. Navigation is a total pain and the App just closes randomly on occasion.

Comprehensive guitar learning program

I have lots of guitar applications and I have weekly guitar lessons for the last 3 years.This is a demanding balance and time is my biggest enemy to progressing quicker than I like. Guitar tricks has a comprehensive beginner guitar fundamentals in 2 parts which is very thorough.Nothing is left to chance for the guitarist to ponder, “What was that about? “ At beginner level you can split into a desired genre of Blues, Country,Rock, or Acoustic which then specialises again.This is also replicated for “ Experienced” players. These lessons provide guided practice to enable you to tune up, specific warm up spiders,check chord clarity,chord change boot camp, and guided progressions etc ( this instruction was not rushed and very clear you work to your current skill level ) I have not reached my experienced level yet.I am still re working on the beginners to ensure I don’t miss anything. There are over 11,000 videos which are of good video quality, angles, print offs, etc There is good progress area that keeps in focus of what you have achieved so far. I have joined their thriving forum and certainly don’t feel isolated on advice or questions.The GT Instructors are incredible in their knowledge.Just reading the forum, you learn lots. This is a complete package that supplements my weekly guitar lessons and it represents great value for your hard earned money.

Fantastic Guitar

This course has taken me from absolute beginner level to a reasonable sound Guitar player. Learning still everyday. I would highly recommend the course to anyone thinking of Learning Guitar. Excellent course content and Anders explains everything in an easy to understand manner.

Not great for a complete beginner

I’m a complete beginner. The lessons start well and then progress so quickly. It’s difficult to follow, I can’t see finger placement and the beginners songs are REALLY difficult. Fast and multiple chord changes with complicated strumming patterns. If you can already play I think this will be ok. But not for me.

Great content

I’m a beginner but, so far, the content looks really great. If I have one thing to point out is that the “play along” functionality could use some love. On my phone I can’t slow the video down and, on my tablet, I can but then the tabs won’t scroll. Also the sound degrades a lot.

Cluttered

I still feel that the App is too cluttered and difficult to follow. Also I feel that the guitarists doing the lessons need to slow down. They appear to rush things which is not good for someone who is learning the guitar

I want to like it but?

Good range of styles to cover. Caters for beginners and intermediates. But it realty could do with an update. It constantly crashes and it’s really buggy. Countless times I have had to close the app and then find my crashed lessons.
