Hanx Writer Reviews

Bought all keyboards on an iPod 10 device…

Restore purchase doesn’t work sadly but when I had them all they where fun! If you want a realistic experience with sounds get this app, otherwise, you could use a generic note app.

Surprisingly really good for people who just want to write

This is perfect for me, I just wanted something simple to write stories on. The only issue is the caps button is a little slow, other than that I love it😍

Nice

This is a nice app. The only thing is I cannot get the sound of a typewriter. I get no sound at all. Other than that its nice. Can you tell me how to get the sound to work?

A beautiful orphaned app

two_square on

United States

This is a classic example of a very beautiful app that has been orphaned and left to die by its developers. They haven't kept up with the new versions of Apple's IOS. It pains me to write this review and give it only one star because I want to love this app (and I spent $10 to buy the iPad version). But after many years of neglect, this app has become so buggy it's almost unusable. It should be pulled out of the App Store. There are small issues, like the edit 'complete word' features on the screen that no longer work, for example. I can get around small problems like these. But the show stopper bugs are that you cannot export the document you just wrote, or that the file save mechanism gets confused, sometimes appending one document to another where it doesn't belong. I should not complain because I knew the app hadn't been updated for years when I purchased it. But I didn't think the gap would be so wide. Developers: PLEASE, update this app! I believe there's a lot of people out there that would gladly pay for it. It deserves more attention and you would make more money.

Used this on the previous iPad 📪

Some glitches

Cecilia Storyteller on

United States

I like that I can type away and feel as though I’m at a typewriter. I use it on my iPad with a Bluetooth keyboard. The ONLY thing is that the app shuts down at least three times in the course of thirty minutes. I’m not sure if this happens to other users. When I open the app again, I find that the last sentence I was writing is missing, so I have to finish my thought; then, a few moments later, the app shuts down again.

Fun

Fun, fun, fun!

Really needs to repaired

fipronil69 on

Great idea, but it has been a long time since this thing was updated. Especially for $10 when you learn that it crashes constantly, and that the PDF export does NOT look like what the composition does in the app. The typewriters are cool, along with the sounds, but for this kind of money it needs to work. This is simple word processor. It should be able to do the basics without making someone struggle and lose their work.
