Great stuff
Has all the tools regular users and power users need for personal emails, but uses a different approach than the others. Very opinionated. My only paid email service and I absolutely do not regret paying for it.

Proudly and condescendingly (a recurring theme for the founders of 37signals) not using javascript frameworks, but can't even implement a 24 hour clock. Nagging me to turn on recycling but app crashes every time I try to turn it on. Keeping it because I'm to lazy to go through the hassle of changing my primary email again.
My credit card had expired and instead of warning me they just waited and immediately closed the account as soon as payment failed. Now I’m out traveling and can’t access any booking information store. Stay far away from this company, it’s just too risky if you need reliable service.
It’s worth €3000 a year, conservative calculation
I’m quite happy with the service and app. The only thing I’m missing is being able to swipe left and right to go between imbox, feed and paper trail.
The app of the hour is okay plus, and Hey’s approach to e-mail is great. There are some features I miss. One is the possibility to minimize the "previously seen" menu, giving a cleaner, sleeker look. At the moment the "previously seen" menu does the clean philosophy of Hey a disservice. Coming into an empty imbox is not as joyful as it could have been if the imbox took more of the page’s real-estate was bigger. There are no swiping motion controls in the app. I really expected a possibility to swipe the entire imbox left or right to get to the feed and the paper trail, allowing for quicker and hassle-free navigation. In it’s current state it demands far too many clicks to change between the different inboxes. I have high expectations for where the app goes next, but in it’s current state it has room for improvement.
This company is currently at war with Apple over having to offer an in-app subscription. Thing is, that while definitely financially motivated, the app store eco system offers a fast and straight forward way to subscribe to something that you would think struck home with the people behind a «consent-first» based «secure» email service. Apparently it does not. When Hey then asks me to not just use a new app, but switch emails, that’s not something I want to do with a company that throws a hissy fit over paying rent to the very platform that allows them to exist. That sort of entitled BS puts the customer last and undermines everything they claim to want to do
Also a big thank you to @dhh and hey devs for standing up against unfairness!
This is just the beginning but already shaping up to be a game changer in email. Apple: please come to your senses and move away from obligatory IAP!
So good to have a mail service that actively battles tracking and protects privacy.
