Your app doesn’t allow for dashes in phone number entry, but it requires them. I can’t move past this screen.
This app would be amazing if it had a search function. When in big groups and you miss hey messages having to scroll back is soul sucking. Really wish this was prioritized.
Seems great at first and feature rich, but unfortunately has a lot of UX/UI issues and their support is lacking, to say the least. They store credit card data and there’s no way to remove it, which led to an unexpected charge and an uncomfortable situation. The founders don’t seem to understand community, customer service, or communication.
Terrible UX. Very few groups and lots of spam.
As someone interested in forming IRL community, this app seems to be exactly what I have been searching for for FOREVER. Event-focused. With chat functionality. And simple user profile pages. I haven’t hosted any events yet, but I built my first group. The process was intuitive, and the functions I mentioned are there. I will update my review after I get around to hosting an event. But if you’re looking for a community building platform—esp. for local events—that’s not say, Facebook Groups, this seems to be it!
heylo seems like it’s filling a real need - but it’s just too slow and clunky. chats don’t load quickly , you get a notification for a chat and you open the app it’s not there. sometimes you wait 20 seconds for the app to figure out what’s going on and update your chats. the chatting and messaging experience is really really far off from whatsapp telegram imessage etc. for this reason no one in my friend group uses this for actual chatting. once we have an event we will always make a whatsapp or telegram channel. in those apps you can chat much more smoothly , send attachments and files , uploading and dealing with media is way way better. heylo is fine for high level group coordination but it feels like an app from 2015 when it comes to communication. one star is harsh but the developers have had a lot of time to fix the chatting experience and it doesn’t seem to be a priority
I had a ton of questions before moving our group over from WhatsApp and their Founder got on the phone with me for an hour to hash things out. Really thoughtful product built specifically for these types of groups.
If you have a group but don’t want to open it up to the world, Heylo gives you all the organizational functionality you need to manage events. It’s easy to use, works like it should, and the staff listen to and encourage my suggestions. I’m glad I found it.
Downloaded and had no idea how to use, was not very intuitive
