customer support & misleading info

John Vour on

United Kingdom

Overall, the software is quite satisfactory. However, given the annual subscription fee, I would anticipate more robust support. Additionally, there appears to be misleading information suggesting that equations can be written in LaTeX within the notes section. Personally, I find this claim dubious, and there seems to be limited information available on this feature.

Disapointing

Despite what the website tells you to do, OCR is not available in the free version. Yet another con to get you sucked it.

Need a function to show a list of search results.

Good, could improve

This is an excellent app to read and annotate esp for academic research. I would suggest some additional features, though, to improve functionality. These include 1. Customisable colour palettes for annotation to choose our own colour combinations 2. True dark mode that displays the pdf as white text on black background.

Exactly I was looking for in a PDF reader

As a software engineer I am reading, studying professional books. This app supports all the need in an elegant and easy to use way. I can recommend it to all students and professionals who likes to highlight important parts of the book.

Great

Great fix if your Mac PDF annotations won't open

Unstable

Good idea but cashes often and unexpectedly. Not worth risking time spent and the annotations. Kindle may not be pretty but at least it works.

Good but a little buggy

Macca17 on

For the free version of the app its excellent and works well between Mac and iOS. It does have a few bugs and occasionally crashes but due to regular auto-saving its not lost any progress for me to date.

Nice but seems to have some important faults

bslkd on

United Kingdom

I've used it for a few hours and started enthusiastically annotating my PDF. Great to be able to have coloured underlines, a view of all highlighted text, shortcuts to select one tool over the other, a dark mode. It's a small download and looks fairly nice. But after adding a note each character of the highlighted text shown in the sidebar turned into a sort of black block. I'm not sure what caused the problem but now I can't read through the highlighted text which defeats a major selling point of the app. Also clicking on the links of the page brings me to a different page. Two features I miss are the ability to add textual annotations which are fully displayed on the page, and the app does not remember the size of the side panels. I thought I found my PDF reader but it's not there yet.

Not very good

No better than using the Option key with mouse
