5 min after using the app. I was amazed that I bought the pro version. Right after buying the pro version, the app went bananas, unusable and freezes, unable to access the documents on google drive. Luckily it’s on my first day of the 14 days trial. If not fixed. That’s a not returning customer
I tried this out at the beginning of a course to highlight pdfs on my phone, but it kept crashing just after highlighting a few lines! Would consider paying, but not with how much it crashes. I think some user error checking needs to be improved - it allowed me to not enter an authors name at first, but then I couldn’t update it after. I think mayyyybe that’s where the issue is! A free hand highlight tool would also be an awesome improvement! Til then, no pro purchase from me.
This would be the perfect app with this tool (Freehand highlight and free hand pen) but this is such a major gap. I would pay for this otherwise.
I’ve found this app super helpful for my academic work. I appreciate that annotations are saved as a separate layer so that you can export an unmarked copy of the pdf. I also like that the app mirrors my filing system so that I can organize files on my Mac and their file path updates automatically in the app. Two features that would improve the app for me are: 1) to allow handwritten notes in the margins of PDFs (without automatically converting them to typed text), and 2) allow for a single highlight/annotation to select text continuing from one page to the next (so a highlight can continue across a page break).
I have had this for a while, paid user, and did love it. However, it would often reopen the pdf to earlier locations. Sometimes the beginning of the pdf, sometimes just earlier chapters, no seeming reason for it. Also, recently it is crashing when I try and comment on annotations. I emailed the developer about it and although they were at first responsive, asking for a video of what was happening, it has no been months since I sent that in and they still have no gotten back to me or fixed the app.
Can't share docs into the app.
Used to be my go-to app for annotations, and I rated it 5 stars. However, on the iPad and when used with Apple Pencil it crashes non-stop. This is highly replicatable and repetitive. Unfortunately this has made a good app useless. On top of that, annotations occasionally disappear alongside this freezing. Imagine annotating a 100 page pdf to only find nothing saved. Yikes. This problem has been ongoing for approximately 7 months and the devs seem to not have fixed anything. Perhaps they are moving away from the product? Who knows.
Freezes… or crashes on iOS 14.8.1
This app is a lazy note taker’s dream. It saves me hours by automatically recording the passages I highlight as well as the notes I write in the margins. This app is a first step in developing a good knowledge management system.
If you want to use this app with your Apple Pencil, get ready for the visual text selection to “disappear” any time you add a comment to your PDF. The only way to get it to come back is force quitting and reopening the app.
