Very unclear communication
I live abroad and the only way I can effectively get Tax related messages is via the app, email, or my HMRC account. It is always really unclear when I have payments due, and I have been stung by penalties that have grown because I wasn’t aware of them thanks to this awful communication. This is especially frustrating as I get numerous generic emails from HMRC all the time, but never seem to get notified when there is something specific relating to my account. The whole thing is really poor, and is a joke compared to the excellent system in Singapore where I currently live and work.
