Description

With IKEA Home smart app and DIRIGERA hub, it's easy to create smarter everyday moments with lighting, speakers, blinds and air quality products.

Picture yourself waking up as your smart lights gently rise. Your favourite songs play on the speakers and you still haven't gotten out of bed. How lovely, right? Smart products like lighting, speakers, blinds and air purifiers can make a lovely addition to your everyday life. When you improve the IQ of your home, life itself runs a bit smoother.

The magic happens when you combine two or more smart products from IKEA, tell them what to do in the app and save it as a 'Scene'.

A great scene is one you will use often. Think about waking up and going to bed, cooking and eating, date night and family time, or leaving and coming home. All everyday moments when we can support you with the best lighting, sound that suits your mood, and cleaner air.

When it comes to control, we think of everyone, from young to old and even visitors. So while the app gives you total control to customise your smart home, our range of remotes make it easy for everyone to live with and use a smart home.

In control
• You can control products individually or in groups. You can turn whole rooms on and off or the whole home, all at once.
• Dim and change light colours, adjust blinds, speaker volume, and much more.
• Set the scenes you need and trigger them with schedules, a shortcut button or use the app.

Easy to use
• The home screen gives a fast overview of your whole home. Quickly control products, access rooms, or start/stop scenes. This is also where you add new products, rooms, and scenes.

Organised and personal
• Organising your smart products in rooms gives fast access to the products you want to control.
• Personalise the app with your choice of icons, names and colours for rooms and products
• Create personal scenes, for example your own combination of cosy lighting and your favourite music.

Integrations
• Connect to Apple Home, Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use a voice assistant.

When it works great but ….

Bird Wisperer on

Unfortunately the systems is not reliable. My blinds and some sockets are in an area not that easy to reach by hand and for months no issue since a few month they do what they like. So a life saver when it works. However so often it states offline. Why? And despite resetting the hub and the sockets several times it does not work continuously or only some blinds come down or go up or some sockets turn on and off at the scheduled time. Often system resets itself and in the morning they are up when I put them down manually in the evening. However that should be done automatically, it is annoying and feels all like a waste of time. Sort it please. Also no one there to help or just inadequate.

Unable to remove broken device on (updated)

gdotp64 on

Ok. So yet another Tradfri socket failed (flashing and turning on/off) quickly, and yet again ikea have refused to admit there is a hardware issue with these plugs. However it was only 10 quid so I chucked it away along with the other three that went the same way this last 6 months. However, guess what ? the app now won’t let me remove the device as it’s offline! Yes I know it’s BROKEN. So no I’m left with a useless non removable device in my home setup. Thanks Ikea….how did that get through the test process? Developer response “ "Hej! Thanks a lot for reaching out! This should be possible to do. Have you tried to restart the hub and phone? /IKEA Home smart". Gee, no, I’d not thought of turning off and on again….

This app needs to be available to download on macs too!

Hi, will the Dirigera hub be supporting thread anytime soon as act as a thread border router?

Still poor HomeKit support

danw_1979 on

Over a year ago I went out and bought a DIRIGERA hub and a bunch of accessories - smart plug for some LED lights, a couple of TRADFRI buttons (shortcut buttons, and on/off) and the lovely STYRBAR dimmer/on/off switches. “Works with Apple HomeKit” said the product info. Well, that’s not quite true… the single-action shortcut button, motion sensor and socket work with homekit, but the TRADFRI on/off buttons do not show up as HomeKit accessories, nor do the STYRBAR dimmers. So basically half of this stuff has sat in a box for more than a year, because most of my existing lighting is non-IKEA so I need to control it through HomeKit. I thought maybe by now they would have added support for these accessories, but alas, the latest version as of 05/04/24 still doesnt support it. And they no longer sell these accessories, so I’m betting it never will. So I’m left with 5 useless bits of e-waste that never got used, and I’m not going to buy any more IKEA home stuff because of this disappointment.

Better than v1 by a long way

I upgraded to a Dirigera hub from an old Tradfri Hub so I could use some of the new features and devices This app is lovely to use, straightforward and intuitive It lets me reorganise lights if I need to move things from one room to another It integrates brilliantly with Apple HomeKit There doesn’t seem to be a way to set the power on status like there was in the previous version It would be nice if I could group the lights in a room and change the order too Maybe these things are there and I just haven’t found them yet I had to port all of my lights manually from my old Tradfri Hub too - there didn’t seem to be an easy way to do this Small issues though Otherwise brilliant ⭐️

Reliable system, just don’t use beta features!

ShaunRigby on

Stupidly enabled “Presets for smart lights” from The Workshop as a beta function, app has since updated and the settings for this has now disappeared meaning my lights are stuck on with this feature and I can’t control it!

Regretted to buy that

iicchhtt on

This product is very unstable. I set a specific time to adjust the brightness of the lights, but only some of them respond correctly. Some even display incorrect brightness levels. The controller is placed directly beneath the light, I had to adjust manually every time, which is disappointing.

Excellent

Itzphani on

Very useful to dim or brighten your smart home devices without doing manually
