Dreadful device - infuriating

Gecko victim on

United Kingdom

Next to useless. Connects only once in 10 or 20 attempts. Each failure it blames MY Wifi connection or power supply when in fact it is the device that is failing.

Can’t cope with Summer Time

Richard BN1 on

United Kingdom

This App is “OK” but could be a lot better. The connectivity is ephemeral, but usually you can manage to make the connection after a few tries. Worst for me is its inability to handle time. The Water Care section lets you set times that the Spa should be in economy mode (11C cooler) As I have cheap electricity between 2am & 5am I like to turn off Economy between these times. When I first set this up (in winter) I noticed that always ran 30 minutes earlier than I wanted, thus using full price electricity, so I added 30 minutes to all the programmed times. Then we changed to Summer time and the off-peak heating started 30 minutes later than the programmed times, so i had to change all the times again. It seems to me that the programmer couldn’t be bothered with handling Summer time and set it at an average over the year. Not good enough!

Never use it anymore. Home Assistant custom component is far quicker and allows you to control your spa dynamically. Gecko’s business is selling to OEM’s. Not much interest in end users.

Awful

SCUK09 on

United Kingdom

This app is awful and with all the updates to the iOS nothing has been done to improve the connectivity. The developers need to spend sometime working out why the app is so tempermental.

Frustrating …… not reliable!

happy land✌️✌️👌👍 on

United Kingdom

Rarely works properly. Very frustrating when you go to use it but says it has lost contact with your spa. All other Apps on my phone work perfectly. This was a very expensive purchase and I can’t tell you how disappointed I am with this App. I certainly would not recommend it. A total waste of money.

When it works it’s ok

App is VERY temperamental. Might connect mgmt not, all other “smart” services on my network can be working fine, including those I can access remotley - e.g cameras, smart switches, solar system etc, but Spa Control will throw errors, or will not execute Alexa commands “Sorry, I'm having trouble accessing your My Spa Control Skill right now” or “ Something went wrong. The request could not be completed” tech support will always suggest the issue is on your side, even when you’ve changed absolutely nothing. Then without doing anything it will start working again. So far it hasn’t worked for 4 days, maybe this time it has packed up for good?!

Absolutely useless fraud

Completely useless piece of kit. The app constantly has connection errors. You have to constantly sign in and out and then it says it has lost connection. You just cannot rely on it.

Very bad for £250.

The app never works from home, always displays the Internet has lost contact with your spa. It is waste of money. Please don’t buy this adapter and the app.
