New Apple software, app isn’t working

Skip45 on

Since last week when Apple updated my watch and phone, this app has stopped working properly. The update was to OS 11.1, and since this update the watch app will start okay, but after it gives me stats it will freeze on the stat screen, not let me close the stat screen, keeping it frozen and I can’t stop the app from running until I turn my watch off. I’ve contacted the company twice, but have gotten no response that they have the issue or plan to fix it. Will be looking for another app. I really liked this one before this issue.

Great but only 50% of the time

This app works so well when it works, but 50% of the time it does not do what it is supposed to to and I cannot predict on which day it will fail. I load my running program into training peaks and can view the workout on the app. I will select the app, make sure audio cues are turned on and then cross my fingers. It is so helpful doing sprints and progression runs when it works but horribly frustrating when for no reason it just ticks off the miles and does not reference the selected workout. I have tried everything from rebooting my phone before every run, making sure all of my apps are up to date, and even create small fake workouts to test it. Also, the design of the main screen is awkward. Seems with all of the capabilities of an iPhone a much clearer rendering of workout statistics is possible.

App on Ultra no longer working

Since the latest iOS update app on Watch is useless. I have rebooted, removed and reinstalled. Not recording mileage and freezes up.

A sad goodbye

sgmiller on

This was my major running/walking workout app for many years, chiefly because it included audio cues for heart rate zones, which are not easy to find in app of this type. Recently, however, I find that the app has become buggy and unreliable and the interface outdated. Since I came across another app at this type that has the audio cues. Since there hasn't been a major update in a very long time I'm afraid I'm just going to go ahead and delete it. Oh well.

Too many crashes

I do love this run for tracking my mileage on walks and runs. But whenever I stop to take a picture, the app crashes. If I don’t notice the GPS indicator is off, then I don’t get the full mileage. This has happened for a while, but it’s been more frequent lately and it’s super annoying.

My trusty running app for over 10 years

This is the best free running app! I’m able to scroll back 10 years to see how many miles I ran, how long took, etc I love that I can program various workouts from marathon training, regimens to sprint intervals. This app never has any issues and I love that it is free!

Best app for running, biking on iOS

Love it. I’ve been using it with Apple Watch for several years. Had to switch to using it just on iPhone when my watch crashed, and love that workouts can be recorded directly by its iPhone app. Have new watch now and the app seamlessly installed on it.

Underwhelmed

Seb.S. on

United States

Maybe I am doing something wrong but the app on my first 30 minute run recorded only 7 minutes. On my second run it clipped 2 minutes. What’s jarring is when the run is over the app just shuts down. I have to restart it to view the training log. The report is basic, nothing fancy. You basically review data and make your own assessment of how things went. For the positives, I do like the ability to create my own workout , customize the display metrics and the audio cues. Not sure if I can trust the heart rate data though as it is not even close to my watch. Yes, I know smartwatch HR sensors aren’t accurate but this app missed a lot a heart rate data. Maybe it lost connection to the chest strap? The app was only $4.99 but does not feel polished like some other free apps out there.

Not worth subscribing

TRCOL on

Overpriced on subscription. Free version final surge will sync workouts to Apple Watch workouts now. Only reason I paid for this was for that function.

sharing could be improved

iTunes Player on

United States

I want to export each gpx track to my Mac. email seems to be the only way to do that. If that was automatic that would be great. Other options could be AirDrop or export to an iPhone app.
