Great workouts

I am very happy with this app especially once I figured out how to use my computer with the app to play a much better video on the TV. The interactive action with my machine and the great variety of scenery exertion levels make for enjoyable and challenging workouts.

I said I’d update with 5 stars once dual screen support came back. Here it is. Can’t seem to update my old review.

Seems like a Beta of a great App

Have been using for about a month now. I really enjoy most of the videos, the ones that face forward most of the time but there are some real issues with the app in terms of glitching out. Also, I’m not sure what happened to the new update, but there doesn’t seem to be any multiplayer anymore, there are huge delays between the altitude changes in the video and its responsiveness. I think this app has a lot of potential and I would even like to contribute to it but little things like not being able to search on the map or even the filter is working properly lets this app down.

Lots of Potential

An otherwise excellent app has a few key flaws. Also you keep asking me for a review so here you do. First, it’s ridiculous that you lump the leaderboards all together without segregating by activity; obviously the bike times are faster than run times, how easy would it be to add a filter for activity type into the app. You can filter by age and gender so activity type should be an easy upgrade. Second, there was recently an update that no longer “optimizes” external display. You used to be able to have the map open on my iPad and the scenic view on the TV now it’s the same view on both. When I check the box to optimize the external display it just shows the map on my iPad and on the TV. Third, you should have a feature to run a set distance non stop. So I pick a video and it finishes it should be easier to flow into another video. There used to be an option that pops up saying play next video but I’m no longer getting this prompt. Fourth, for content creators, I’m trying to make some videos for the app but the bar for entry seems pretty high. I’ve tried to upload from my iPad, but the uploaded is not compatible. Next I tried my MacBook Pro, but I guess it’s too old as the uploaded also does not come up on the website. Now I’m looking into purchasing a new computer just to upload, which is kinda crazy. Fifth, video sorting, the homepage of the app just comes off a bit archaic, navigation is unnecessarily difficult. It would be neat to have a world map and you could select the city/country/continent you want to run on. I do love how the app can adjust my treadmill’s elevation and this is a huge jump from Zwift. However Zwift does have you beat by the fact that I can just pick a route on Zwift and run non stop to my heart’s content without ever touching the screen again. Perhaps an automatic next video or something. Maybe this feature is possible with the playlist function which I have not yet been able to work successfully. One final note, why no connectivity to Garmin connect? That seems like an obvious connection to make and not just stave.

Superbe!

One of the BIG advantage of Kinomap is the automatic incline control that it provides on my TM… this is in my view a game changer in terms of its ability in playing with my brain enough to make the indoor runs more palatable! Very smooth operation, nice quality videos (so great to be able to do hikes in the snowy Dolomites in the morning, then a run in the Thai jungle in the afternoon). I enjoy Zwift running too, but the lack of auto-incline on that platform makes me come back to Kinomap very often. I only wish I had been wise enough to buy the lifetime plan a few years ago when it was dirt cheap…

C'est bien - it's okay

For rowing this is excellent, great videos, awesome quality for biking it's very MEH, the GPX isn't that great and doesn't reflect the video. For walk run, I like it. it's good enough

Not FREE

Gotz2005 on

App says its free, when you start using it says 15 days trial. Wrong, and felt cheated.

No free version

LamInc on

It says there is a free version but it’s a 2 wk free trial. That is not offering a free version. That is saying you can use it for free for 2 weeks then you have to pay. This is false advertising.

Good app but…

…please make this available for Apple TV like Rouvy, Zwift, FulGaz…
